JO wants out. A new story coming in this morning has JO quoted as saying he “would welcome a trade to the Lakers.” This is good news for the JO fans, and perhaps, helps the Lakers in terms of packaging a deal up. If JO wants here, then “GetJO!” And if possible, keep Odom please.

SI.com: If Jermaine O’Neal gets his wish, he will not be playing for the Indiana Pacers next season. If he gets his dream, he will be suiting up for the Los Angeles Lakers alongside Kobe Bryant.

While here Sunday for a charity basketball game hosted by Baron Davis and Paul Pierce, O’Neal said he doesn’t want to be a part of a Pacers youth movement and that it would be in his and the team’s best interest to part ways.

I would welcome a trade to the Lakers,” said O’Neal, who averaged 19.4 points, 9.6 rebounds and 2.6 blocked shots last season. “Indiana has given me the opportunity to establish myself as a really good player in this league, but they’re into rebuilding and going really young, and I’m just not in a position physically to go through another five to six years with a lot of losses and a lot of down time.”

Something I found interesting in the article, was the part about Kobe & JO being in close communication; something that wasn’t done with KG & Kobe:

We’ve spoken a couple times this offseason,” O’Neal said. “Me and Kobe have been on each other since we were 15, playing AAU basketball, adidas All-American Camp, Nike All-American Camp. It’s been a long relationship that we’ve had. We talked about maybe playing together. … We just want to make sure that our thought processes are similar and now we’re going to let the business handle itself. I mean, we could talk for years, but if [Lakers GM] Mitch Kupchak and [Pacers president] Larry Bird don’t decide to make the deal, then it’s all talk.

Good thing to hear. I, too, hope that the Lakers can pull it off without dealing Lamar to the Pacers.

Wow! This is just a little short of demanding a trade to the Lakers. If Kupcake doesn’t get a deal done with Pacers..Kobe will be furious and I will be sick to my stomach. If the deal gets done….I’ll be ordering the NBA package from my cable provider so I can watch every game of Lakers on their way to the NBA Finals.

get Jo and keep Odom and then we meet KG and the celtics in the finals and KG goes home crying

Word is that Kevin McCale didn’t give Garnett to Lakers cause of his hatred towards Lakers. What makes us think that Larry Bird will consider this trade as well? Keep in mind that the 2000 Laker team did beat Larry Bird’s Pacers that year and of course the Lakers crushed them several times in the 80s.

Also, if we do get JO? Is it possible we can keep LO? Maybe trade 3-5 sub-par players like the Celts did.

I hope JO makes more and more noise. He could thin out some of Indiana’s leverage.

They are looking for young players. Give out Java, Bynum, Sun, Gasol and maybe some of our draft picks.

Heck, even S-N-Double O-P wants JO here. IF SNOOP SAYS IT, IT MUST BE TRUE.

THE COLLECTIVE POSITIVE FORCE OF WILL CAN NOT BE DENIED! SEE IT FIRST AND THEN IT WILL HAPPEN!! LAKER FANS TAKE A QUIET MOMENT TO SEE IT(JO IN A LAKERS UNIFORM)AND HE WILL BE ONE WITH US, THE LAKER NATION!!!

What is happening is that Bird is going to play the Lakers off against the Nets in a deal for O’Neal…drag it out and wait for either Mitch or the Nets to blink.

I kinda think that Jermaine was talking for talking sake and that if he has to go back to Indiana, he’ll do so. Bird is in the drivers’ seat since he doesn’t have to do anything unless he gets the best deal he can.

D.Imhoff’s comments are kinda funny. The fans can’t see to anything in this deal..I mean to take a “quiet moment” to see that something will happen….that is an appeal to magic. My daughter once wanted a pony for Christmas when she was little….and there was no way no matter how hard she wished she was going to get it. You might as well wish you win the lottery…..
