L.A. Times: Even when Lakers Coach Phil Jackson attempted on Saturday night to bring clarity about his future, he was often vacillating instead.

Jackson waffled when asked whether he would return to coach the Lakers if they repeated as NBA champions.

He’ll decide in June or July, but Jackson’s comments regarding exactly what that decision will be based on left many reporters confounded before the Lakers’ 103-84 victory over the New Jersey Nets.

Jackson, 64, is in the final year of a contract that will pay him $12 million this season.

He even joked that he wouldn’t take a pay cut to return as coach of the Lakers.

When Jackson first was asked whether his chances of returning improved if the Lakers won the NBA championship again, he was emphatic with his answer.

“Oh, sure,” Jackson said. “It really does.”

He’s just taking it one season at a time. Can’t say i blame him. The chances are good this season but Micth will have to improve on the bench slobs because the starters cannot continue to rack up the minutes they have been getting. Lets all hope we never have 3 of our starters out like Detroit ( Rip/Prince & Gordon ) because we would be absolutely terrible without Kobe/Pau & Artest and the people that say Kobe hurts the team by playing injured are some of the biggest IDIOTS on earth.

Wasnt Kobe sick last year against Cavs and he went 6-19, and hit 2 clutch rainbows over Lebron? Lebron wasnt sick and he went 4-20 or 5-20, shows that Kobe’s work whether he is sick or not, is always significant.
So, I say that Kobe, hurt, sick, broken finger, broken pinky, will always be greater over a healthy Lebron. Kobe is the only man I’ve seen, not take an operation or surgery on any body part and continue playing basketball, truly inspiring.

For me, IF the Lakers win this season, PJ will come back for another one.
I think he wants to 3peat 4 times.
    We’ll see.
Plus money and a good BJ from Jeannie will make him happy and fresh for another season. :-)
