Bulls guard Kirk Hinrich and Kings forward Ron Artest, a former Bulls, could wind up in Los Angeles.

The rumor was also being discussed on WMVP 1000-AM.

A Bulls source denied any deal was imminent.

Update: Via ESPN – The Lakers would acquire Ron Artest and Ben Wallace; the Kings would acquire Ben Gordon and P.J. Brown, while the Bulls would get Kobe Bryant.

Chicago Radio Says Kobe deal pending

  • mplakers

are you kidding me? i hope the lakers aren’t satisfied of a duo of hinrich and artest for the greatest basketball superstar in the last 5 or 6 years. that’s highway robbery!!! it shouldn’t be anything less than say a gilbert arenas caliber–not equal mind you but, the best scenario for the lakers.

hinrich and artest?? there better be more….perhaps, hinrich, gordon, artest and a first rounder.

it’s sad but, even magic is confirming that the lakers are fed up with kobe’s nonloyalty and public display of degrading his employers.

if this deal goes through i will be one pissed off fan at both kobe and the lakers front office!………..HINRICH AND ARTEST FOR KOBE??? i taste puke coming out of my mouth.

  • Alvin

Someone said this deal fell through.

  • http://ld2k.com LD2k

ESPN reported this fell through – but they’re all working at it :(

  • http://myspace.com/nugge7 The Nugget

This isn’t good. We better get Gordon, Hinrich, and Gordon!!! :(

  • http://ld2k.com LD2k

    Not happening.

  • http://hzmdesigns.com hZm

Give us Gordon, Deng, Hinrich and Artest… I’ll think about it.

  • DoDoBallz

You gotta understand we are Getting Agent Zero after this season and those on top of what we have already are good role players. He is coming I promise we are the Lakers get with it. So we then have more pieces to have a better team to make more moves. We are the Lakers remember that even when we were down we were still relevant. Watch it y’all. And ohh ya remember he is a free agent. He is not getting traded cause he is only signing with us besides. He has a hell of a game No KOBE but he beat Kobe before. Not only that he has a hell of a personality.I said it here first.Artest,Arenas,Bynum,Oneal.

  • Michael_23

Agreed, can we throw in a descent PF or C in that package. Then we can have a starting 5 of maybe Hinrich, Gordon, Deng/Artest, Lamar, and Bynum.

I would like to see Bynum grow into a Dwight Howard. If not this year, next year.

  • Farbod

this is bullshit if that goes thru im done with the lakers and NBA first espn hates kobe because he can score and hes on the lakers now he wants to leave hes the good guy FUCK THE NBA

  • lakerfan81

Some other players have to be involved. The salaries don’t match because only 5M of Heinrichs salary counts towards a trade because of BYC.

  • Miguel

    Just an Idea!!

How about a 4 team trade bewteen Lakers, Chicago Bulls, Sacramento Kings & Indiana Pacers.

    New Lakers Line Up:

    Line up 2:

Indiana gets a young center prospect in bynum, youn pg in Chris Duhon and another young player in Thabo. Also 9 mill expiring in Kwame.

Kings get a young forward in T. Thomas and Young prospect in Joakim Noah.

Bulls get Kobe while keeping Luol deng and Ben wallace which Kobe wnat to play with.

Lakers get at least a start in J.O. and Artest while Ben Gordon is not too shabby at all replacing Kobe at SG.

Lakers get monster line up in J.O., Artest, L.O. And Ben Gordon. A 4 headed monster. We get help now and young at the same time with Gordon and Critt. Now And Future.

    Any thought or ideas?

    Thanks Just an Idea!!

I thought ESPN said we’d get Ben Wallace and Artest. I don’t believe either are real. By trading Kobe, the Buss’ are basically saying they’d rather build around Bynum than Kobe. So what would be the point of getting Ben Wallace and his contract? The other deal posted here is way too low for Kobe.

  • kobester

I think the Lakers F.O. are bunches of crooks. When Kobe demanded a trade, Buss said they will not trade him and will build around him (even sent a letter to season tickets holders). Now that everyone has paid for their season tickets and reg. tickets, the Lakers will trade the blockbuster attraction of Kobe. I feel like I got robbed by buying Laker tickets now. Flak the Lakers F.O.!!

  • http://deleted JBMONKEYMAN

This is the worst rumor yet, if (when) we trade Kobe we have to get the other teams best player, two young studs and a draft pick (something in that realm) Not centers with no offensive skills (we already have one, ahem Kwame Brown) and headcases that can tear a team apart (we already have one of those too, ahem Kobe Bryant). Didnt i hear trade talks this summer about Kwame and Farmar for Artest and now we are talking about Kobe (the best player in the game) for Artest and the Bulls most overpayed player Ben Wallace, or hinrich their third best player? THIS IS A MADE UP TRADE that i sincerly hope has no basis in reality. Speaking of having no basis in reality…. KOBESTER if you were willing to pay for season tickets thinking everything was ok in LALA land when Kobe demanded a trade this summer(and has a no trade claus in his contract) then the Buss family is simply smarter than you and deserves your money.

Lmao at the season tickets comment…

Anyways.. there obviously is MORE to this deal than what is shown. The salaries don’t match up. And btw, I thought Artest and J.O. hated each other? Or at least disliked each other. But to think about it.. if we DO get a couple of the free agents here that want to play in LA.. that would be awesome.. Baron Davis, Arenas, J.O.. I still feel like we have a great future. Teams do take time to rebuild and establish themselves in the NBA. And I really do believe the Laker team will always be great. It’s just something about this city that will never die. Just thinking about Crittenton and Bynum’s little spark in the preseason excites me about the future with them. Add some veteran players just to add a little more seasoning to the team. And all I can say is damn. Even though Kobe has given this organization many great memories and games, he has shown it is his time to leave. There still is a chance he may stay, but if it’s meant to be, it’ll be. But just remember that the Lakers will never die.

  • kobe4life

shut ur munky crap mouf! KOBE ISN’T GOING ANYWHERE!

  • Jrich

Hinrich and Artest? Or Artest and Wallace? That’s a lame deal… a really lame deal for us. Wow. We don’t need another guard (Hinrich). But I really want that douche bag Kobe out of a Lakers uniform immediately.

  • lakerfan81

Why would the Lakers want Ben Wallace’s huge contract if they are rebuilding? This trade just does not make sense. It’s basically giving Kobe away for a nut case (albeit a very talented one) and an aging center with a huge contract with 3 rs 50M (I think) left on it. If this trade happens thay are bigger Idiots than I think.

  • lakerfan81

I don’t think a trade can really happen any time soon. Kobe has the no trade clause meaning that he has unprecedented control over any trade. He is not going to agree to any trade that he feels guts the team he is going to (maybe rightfully so) and the Lakers are not just going to take a bunch of scrubs and bad contracts. Chicago may be willing to part with Deng but I heard to day that Kobe won’t accept any trade that includes Deng going to the Lakers. It a no-win situation for all parties involved. This whole mess is going to hang over the Lakers for the entire season. This is not going to be a good season to be a Lakers fan.

  • lakerfan81

Kobe objecting to Deng’s inclusion in Bulls-Lakers trade

  • http://myspace.com/brittnay678 Brittnay

We get Artest and Ben and we loose Kobe. We are giving up a guy that could put up 40 anytime he wants for a guy that makes 2 points every 5 games and and average player in Ben Gordan. I thought there was something to be learned by the Shaq trade. If this trade happens how can anyone like the Lakers anymore? Everytime we get a star, he is traded for scrubs. I bet when Bynum is 29 and is an all star(mabey) they will pull the same stuff on him.

  • Shaq786

aight guys we need to some how get this to the front office…

we got 2 years to appease kobe…

trade odom, farmar, cook, and maurice…. for antawn jamison and antonio daniels….

we can sign, josh smith, luol deng, ai, artest, or magette at the 3… and we can either re-sign jamison for cheap… or sign and trade him, with pick… for JO or elton brand

    (potential) Line up:

    antonio daniels/d-fish/Javaris
    josh smith/walton/v.rad

  • yenok

are u kidding two ritarded players for kobe if they make this trade buss is stupieddddddddddddd

  • Rasar

Just the rumors in themselves show how monumentally screwed up this whole thing is, the Lakers FO and Kobe collectively. They both have so horribly poisoned the atmosphere NO GOOD OUTCOME will come out of this. This is a train-wreck. I suppose the old adage “the bigger they are the harder they fall” is being proved here. The giant that were the Lakers for so long have just imploded. This is like a bad divorce that has got so ugly that the husband and wife go to the hearing packing heat. My god… Grow up both of you, Lakers and Kobe. Leave something for us poor children of this dysfunctional family.

Now THAT is what I call wishful thinking at it’s best.

The lack of spelling (or even spellcheck) on this site troubles me.

MonkeyBoy… there’s better things to worry about.

  • steve

So Deng has been included in the offers that the bulls have made but Kobe is blocking a deal with deng in it

  • http://deleted JBMONKEYMAN

Jrich, you seem to be able to spell, let me worry about what i want to worry about, (it takes the mind off of the KB24 AKA “the douche”) some of the examples from today alone….RITARDED and STUPIED, ha

Steve, thats what im hearing too, it just shows you that Kobe only has his best interest at heart and ultimately doesnt care if he leaves the Lakers in ruins. Yet, many LAKER fans constantly defend him on this site, I just dont understand. People need to recognize that he is the enemy here, everyone else in the organization has criticized him and rightfully so.

  • JoJoEnglish94Bulls4ever

    Trade over

  • steve

I have said it before and i will say it again people still defend this guy like he has done nothing wrong the whole time he has been in la…Yes the front office has made mistakes but when it comes to kobe people love to paint this rosie picture with his head in it..
