If Lakers win title, Phil will be back!

Interesting stuff! It seems, as most of us guessed, if when the Lakers win the 2010 title, Phil will be back to coach next year!

ESPN: “Yeah, if we win, it’s almost imperative to give it another shot,” Jackson said. “We [would] have a chance to do something special and unique again.”

Thats the Only way I see Phil Coming back is winning another Title but I dont know about going to the Finals 4 consecutive Times thats gonna Be Hard

lakerso828 I agree with you that going to the finals 4 consecutive times will be hard. That’s why I think the lakers have to win it this year. Because next year is not guranteed and it will only get tougher. Also Phil’s status for next years is not guaranteed, so they have to win now.
If the lakers repeat their performance in Game 1, they should win again in Game 2, BUT CLOSELY. I expect the Celtics to play great. The lakers need to make FT’s, make open shots, stay aggressive, and hopefully try to get the Celtics in foul trouble.
If the Lakers lose Game 2, I think it will be because of bad officiating and are trying to fix games by extending the series so the NBA can create drama and ratings.
I just hope the officiating for Game 2 is as balance as Game 1.

Not gonna be a cake walk, not gonna be that hard either.
Next year We´ll probably have the same team, with 1 or 2 tweaks that I dont think will interfere with our chances to 3 peat.
Phil´s decision is what we all wanted to hear, we know this year we will win; next year Phil will be going for his 4h 3 peat . HISTORY!

PJ is at work again, his comments are deliberate and i’m sure he is trying to motivate guys even more.

I dont see Phil retiring this year. If he wins, then he says he will be back. But if the Lakers somehow end up losing I cant picture him ending his wonderful carrer with a bitter taste in his mouth.
