According to sources, the Orlando Magic are targeting Andrew Bynum as a possible swap for Dwight Howard. With a package focused on the Second team All NBA center, the Lakers would most likely have to take contracts off the Magic’s books and provide future draft picks.
The Magic would need a guarantee from Bynum that he extends to sign an extension, and right now it is unclear whether Dwight Howard would re-sign long term with the Lakers if traded. It is no secret around NBA circles that the Brooklyn Nets are still Howard’s first choice, but the Lakers are trying to hit a home run and maximize the last years of Kobe Bryant’s career.
Nation: Is it worth risking losing Dwight Howard after one season? Is the possible reward too great to pass up?
