Horry would consider returning to Lakers to finish out career

A while ago we discussed bringing Horry back to the Lakers. It now appears Horry would consider the Lakers to close out his career. So I bring up the question again, if we signed him for cheap, would you take Horry (especially since Kwame just signed with Pistons).

Herald-Zeitung: Horry has said he’d like to remain with the Spurs. If the organization decides to move on, however, he said he’d like to return to Los Angeles or to Houston, where he began his career.

robert horry is gonna be as usefull as ira newble, if we sign him. i love horry, he did great things in LA, but we just dont need you.

  • Michael_23

I love Horry, but he needs to be healthy. If seeing him injured like that in the playoffs is a sign of his old age, he should retire and be happy with his 7 rings.

  • DCLAKER

    YOUTH MOVEMENT(Tyrus Thomas,Josh Smith,J.R.Smith,etc.)….but knowing how ‘SENSITIVE’ Mitch is,he’ll sign’em.

  • http://kelvlam.yelp.com/ kelvlam

    Bring Horry HOMMMMMME!!!! :-D

  • http://twitter.com/andrewho andrewho

    All nastolgia aside…

Horry wont win us a championship, but it never hurts to have a veteran big man… and if said veteran also happens to have triangle experience, and more championship experience than MJ himself, then all the better

Horry doesnt solve any of our issues, but he certainly doesnt hurt the depth charr if he comes cheap… hell, i’d play Horry over Radmon Monday through Sunday

  • lakerschamps09

well since we aint tradin LO.. i say go get robert horry.. its not gonna hurt 1 yr deal for vets min…he can still shoot and put someon on the ground if need be(just ask steve nash LOL).. i would welcome him back

if horry comes back he’ll sit on the bench ira newble status. of course we could always throw him in in crunch time in the playoffs so he can get us a victory. go for it if u can get him for suuuuuper cheap.

  • kPoAbUe

WELCOME TO LA BIG SHOT ROB!

  • goodfella

Retired, Horry. You really need to. Thanks for what you’ve done with the Lakers. 7 rings! not bad.

  • Kobayashi

In a new updated article, Horry lists the Spurs, Rockets, Hornets, Magic and Mavs in order of preference of teams he wants to play for.
The Lakers are not on the list.

  • cummlaker

Robert horry still plays good defense and does all the little things when he is in the game.he might be slower then he used to be but he would be a useful guy off the bench for 8-15 minutes to back up gasol and odom. the one thing you cant take a way from him is basketball iq. at the veterans minimum of 1.2 mil your most likely not gonna find anyone better. and he only wants one year which is good for not locking up and hurting the lakers salary long term. most these younger guys think they are better then they are and deserve all this money. sign horry for one year and 1.2 mil he’s a solid backup and would be better used on the lakers then the spurs because we have more depth. the spurs didnt have much which caused horry to play more when healthy and thus get injured

  • Sako

    BRING BOB BACK!!!

  • yellowpurplefever

NO! THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES AND 3 RINGS

  • yellowpurplefever

Also, he has NO respect for Kobe, thats the fact. And I respect that, but hes too old.

  • http://TheVerveNerve.com Billy Kupchak

how come i am banned from the shoutbox? :(

  • Laker Man

have we stooped so low that we are seeking HORRY?

  • pio2u

Horry would be a good 11th or 12th man. Sign him up; he can still shoot & play “D.”

  • PGMVP

I don´t mind getting BIG SHOT ROB in here again i mean we do need veteran help too.

  • http://www.vemmabuilder.com/15126071 Billy Kupchak

all we need is Big Shot Rob!

  • ab4sure

Horry would help even if he was just on the bench. What Fish is to the laker backcourt Horry would be to the laker frontcourt. Don’t underestimate his worth. A mentality of winning is what Rob is all about and he is mentally tough. It ain’t going to cost much. Rob would be worth that just to teach our big men. I miss you Big Shot Rob.

  • e

id like to have him this guy back in laker uniform

  • http://www.jamieinsider.com Jamie Spears Insider

IF he settles for minimum then I’d be happy to see him back as a Laker.

  • MILO

[Comment ID #47357 Will Be Quoted Here]

no! did you not see the Lakers abuse Horry and the rest of the old farts in the spurs??? c’mon!

  • http://www.jamieinsider.com Jamie Spears Insider

MILO has a point. Horry seemed to have went from Veteran to a clueless, slow rookie near the end of last season for the Spurs. He couldn’t hit a shot from anywhere on the floor. He was completely overwhelmed.

  • T-Dub

That would be such a big waste of money! They might as well sign me! at least I’ll start fights with the other team.

  • xtro

perhaps, horry is still saving one more big shot to win the nbachampionship for la ciudad. what better moment is when he launches a game winning three-point point shot against the hated celtics.

  • http://myspace.com/sonicussj Whatsa

    Get Josh Smith first.

  • FILOSOFREAK

BRING BIG SHOT ROB BACK BABY!!!!

  • Short Diezel

Is this a joke??!! it has to be.. cause Horry will NOT do anything for the Lakers except take up their handicap spot outside staples

  • ECJ

Hey, we can always use him to knock Nash on his a*& during the playoffs. I’d pay the veterans minimum for that. It can’t hurt to have an experienced playoff player on the bench just for backup.

  • Daryl Imhoff

The Lakers presently have 11 players under contract, whats the rush!

  • daboss1849

Did anyone see Horry play this year??? If you did you know the boy has lost his game throwing up airballs and being a paycheck player. Mitch if u bring him back u will be a joke in the league again like you were before the gasol trade…..

  • Freshh

    Good post Friend^

  • megaloco10

i agree horry was a complete joke againts lakers..

i hope we make a move but not a stupid one…

  • T-Dub

There are no more free agent worth paying double for…because of the luxury tax. The only way to improve this team is via trade and the only chip we have is Odom. Thaty means a young, up and coming SF. Luol Deng, or Josh Smith are our only options as I see it, or we roll with what we have and hope last year we didn’t overachieve and Bynum and Ariza will get us past Boston or Detroit.

  • Smush Walton

He was thru with us when he went 0 for 32 on 3 point shots vs Detroit in the finals. ANd he sure was pretty worthless foer San Antonio in the playoffs this year – air ball after air ball.

    Forget it!

If he settles for veteran minimum, I don’t think that’d be a waste. You can hardly get anyone for the minimum these days.

  • gspence001

horry used to be a great player but now..ehhhhh

didnt u guys see those terrible misses in the playoff series verse us
two shots in the same game hit nothing but glass, one right off of the corner of the backboard

    no thank you
