  • Edward

    Ariza & Kobe!!!!!!! yes!!!!!!!

If they did the best dunkers Ariza & Kobe would be on there.

Ariza still got burned by pain faker Paul Pierce many many times.

Kobe’s defense is known to have declined since Shaq years in LA. I see him standing around more these days. Still, when he tries, he’s good at D. I can understand him standing around more because he has also stepped up his scoring sprees since Shaq left.

Dude, what sport have you been watching the last 10 years? YES. KG is a monster on D. That’s why it’s going to be so sweet when Bynum dunks so hard that he breaks KGs arm off on the rim.

Well Ariza being burned has nothing to do with his skill in the passing lanes.

And yes, Kobe has been overrated defensively for years. When he tries yea he is up there, but he’s not that stable defender that many others are, the guys who are out there JUST to defend.

Still liking the recognition Ariza is getting wow.

If Kobe commited to defense fully he would have at least 2 defensive player of the year awards. Name any top on the ball perimeter defender that can also consistently drop 25 or more points a game? Nobody. Kobe might not be the number 1 but he is top 5 defensive players in the league, if not, def top two or three perimeter defenders.

The big flaw in this list is, WHERE IS D-Wade? After Kobe, he is the only guy that can drop big points and play good D. Artest can score a little but not on the level of these guys. And Edward, Lebron? Please. Just please.

Yeah it’s true Ariza got “burned” against Paul Pierce in the finals, as did VladRad, but I’d argue, out of the benefit of the doubt for Ariza that he had just returned from his ankle injury and there was no way he was ready for the playoffs, nor was he game-shape.

Right now, in the preseason, he looks spry, alert, and ready. In the finals, he was hesitant, no doubt still worried about his broken ankle. His timing was off and that slasher we saw last december to february has returned NOW, but it was definitely not there during the finals.
