Our friend, JSM, from Clublakers.com scoured the internet to find more information our 1st round draft pick, Javaris Crittenton. His also seen him play a few games. Here are his thoughts on Crittenton:

I’ve watched him play some here at GT, but I wasn’t all that familiar with his background. From what I’ve read in what I posted in the post I made, I like what I’m reading about him.

- Smart
Family oriented
- Vocal on the court (weren’t all of us begging for some on court communication all season?)
- Very competitive (Kobe will respect that)
Plays D (he’s already the anti-Smush)
- His quote about not giving up, wanting the W (spells more kudos points from #24)
- Knows his role as a PG (Smush would stare at the bench, practically pleading for direction)
- Watches 4 hours a week of NBA PGs (that’s already more off the court work than 3/4 of Kobe’s teammates put in)
- He’s a Magic Johnson fan (has to earn some kudos points from Laker fans)
- Very coachable (meaning the coaching staff can mold him)

so far i like the sound of this guy, lets just hope kobe stays to see

  • ImmortalD24

I like his game a lot, and will be an instant impact player.

    Me too.

Sounds like a floor leader. Him & Farmar are a nice, young PG frontcourt.

ric bucher on espn just said the lakers were the losers of the draft. and i have to agree just exactly what did they do to improve their team. lakers are just making it closer and closer to kobe leaving l.a.

  • http://www.myspace.com/sham_ill Sham-Ill

    This guy sucks.

    :S

Anyways, now the Lakers have a big ass package they can deal to the TWolves,

Trade’m Crittenton, Sun, Lamar Odom, Bynum, and Turiaf for K.G.

what did you expect with the 19th pick? there was no one in the draft after oden that we could have gotten that would change kobe’s mind, get real. we need a big trade, not a draft pick.

rick bucher needs to quit his day job and become kb’s permanent, full-time fluffer. did anyone else see this guy on tv yesterday? i haven’t seen a man wear that much makeup since jack played the joker in batman one. its so annoying to see this clown keep running his mouth, trying to make his career off being the little school girl who runs from one bitch to another wispering secrets and tyring to kick up drama. shut the f$#@ up bucher!

And why do you think he said that? Because he’s kobe’s bitch.

I completely agree. But hey that is what he is paid for.

i guess, but a whore is paid to do what she do, and that doesn’t make her any more dignified

  • nyla

I’m starting to think Bucher’s pissed off at Kobe for telling everyone he was wrong when he basically broke the story he wanted to traded. Since then, he hasn’t said a good thing about the Lakers.

Get Pau Gasol. We can get him for less..we can keep LO and Pau only makes 12 Mil a year.

  • k0be da 1 andonly

Pau Gasol i dont think he’ll come hereunless his bro convinces him

if you’re memphis, y would you do this?

at minimum it would cost you bynum!

That’s not enough for minnesota. Of course I like it, but Mchale will never do that trade. We’re going to have to keep exploring multi-team trades.

  • Brandon

Plus Minnesota already stated that they dont want LO’s contract.

The more I read about Crittenton, the more I like him. I hope he’ll be able to play in the Vegas summer league.

As for Bucher, how the F can the Lakers be losers of the draft when they pick at #19???? If we’re losers, what about the Cavs, who didn’t have ANY picks, nor did they make any moves? After ESPN rates the Lakers a B+ for the draft, and CNNSI gives us a B, how can anyone in their right friggin’ mind take Bucher seriously??

It’s obvious that’s he’s Kobe’s shill, and he need to keep his trap SHUT. I like Kobe and all, but this third party drama queen crap just needs to end.

As for Pau, I like the idea of him, Lamar, and Kobe in the same line-up.

However, I would rather us spend the MLE on Kapono, so we have a bona-fide shooter on the team. Luke can shoot well at times, but we all know he’s not a shooter. Yeah, he can run the system, but with Kobe, Crittenton, and Lamar, I’m sure the ball will move around quite well.

OK, maybe when Kobe will get the ball, perhaps not so much, but you know what I mean.

vote for kobe on whos now on espn, so that u can prove erybody wrong that hes the most popular off and on the court

    DO U HAVE LINK???

  • TheFaze

Oh, I forgot to add that another free-agent wish would be the addition of Eddie Jones, someone who could come off the bench, shoot 3s, and play his much-needed DEFENSE.

If all it takes to give Kevin Garnett hope for a winning season is a rookie, he’s a lost cause. I guess he doesn’t care about winning after all. If I were him I would be stomping my feet to get traded, and no fan bias but logically here would be the most likely place. We can match the salary and offer an asset in bynum. phoenix is not going to work out because they’re not willing to trade amare which is a good decision on their part because I sure as hell wouldn’t. And I just don’t see golden state getting a package together that would still allow their roster to have enough depth to go deep into the playoffs. But it’s not a good sign if Garnett is just staying quiet, he really doesn’t care. Go after PAU

First off, ESPN is copying FSN’s best damn sports show who recently had a “Top 50 Most Phenomenal Athlete NOW”, and Kobe came off #1, TIger #2. But Why vote for ESPN’s now when the whole thing is already set up, I for one thing It should be a battle between Kobe and Tiger, but it wont happen because they are setting it up for Lebron who has nothing on Kobe, heck, Lebron cant even shoot a basket if his life depended on it.
So I wont be voting because i could care less what ESPN does.

PS:”besides Stephen A Smith, Ric Bucher, Rick Carlisle, TOny Kornekeise or Stuart Scott, NObody at ESPN likes KOBe BRyant. Heck Even Bill Walton who’s own Son is KObe’s teammate doesn’t like Kobe Bryant.

Kobe will go up against ronaldhinho in the first round(Ironic cuz hes good friends with him and favorite team is barcelona he visited.

tahts for espys, but the one im talkin about is for the “Whos Now” player on espn from players of different sports challenging each other to see whos the most popular. I think its 80% people votin online and 20% on the espn crew

Bucher is really showing himself to be quite the annoyance. I don’t think anything this guy’s been reporting lately has an ounce of truth
to it btw. All the Suns/Minny talk he was laying down sure didn’t come true did it. Turns out as most of us thought, no way in hell the Suns would trade a 24 year old stud for KG.

Bucher doesn’t know crap about drafts or player talent. He’s a huge Laker hater. He keeps pushing for Kobe to leave in every broadcast. I can’t stand this knucklehead.

We got a guy who was projected lottery and fell down into our laps. Just so happens he is a big guard who has some d, good passer, has actually played the Tri – and he was the best athlete available. And yeah, it’s at a position we’ve been horrible at since Fisher left. Yeah, we really blew it in the draft. I guess we should have picked . . . uh . . . (fill in the blank).

Come on. I mean I didn’t understand taking the Chinese Magic over Byars, but I can certainly live with our top pick. I’m personally excited about Javaris. And what’s wrong with getting a backup center at 48? I heard Gasol is slow, but if he’s serviceable we could use him.

  • http://www.lakerfreak.homestead.com lakerfreak

how could someone say we are the losers of the draft everyone says we need a pg and we get a pg that people thought would go higher in the draft then he did sounds good to me

  • http://foshizzy eatme sideways

bucher is a dip shit that needs to learn when to shut up

  • Ricky

i like this rookie, lots of upside and his size and slashing ability will pay off for the lakers cause we need a “speedy” guard.
