Karl speaks his mind…

RealGM: “Don’t you have to make the statement that maybe they’re better without Bynum?” Karl asked reporters on Thursday.

“Why do we always say Bynum? How many games has he played for this team? I like Bynum. I think he’s a great player. But sometimes you can have too much talent out there and it can kind of be confusing.”

They are not better without Bynum. the lakers are stacked with talent and it’s triky to get the best out of the players bc there’s not a lot of room on the court for all that talent to be at it’s best. If bynum came off the bench then LO can do his job rebounding for the starters, getting them involved and being aggressive. with bynum coming off the bench he brings scoring and D. He can really open up the game by playing Orlando Magic style ball and have ariza, farmar, sasha and Morrison open all day for shots. Against some teams it’s best to have him start with Gasol, but the lakers cant be better without him. we can be A LOT better if we use him the best way we can. the lakers can go undefeated all season if we used the starters we are now to start and have him come in on the bench to bring his scoring and all his other game in

I’m pretty sure the range of things George Karl finds “can kind of be confusing” extends beyond figuring out a way to make having a good, young center available to play work to your advantage.

How he ever got a another coaching job after the 02 World Championships is beyond me.

I dont find this to be a negative comment. He is just saying that the Lakers are great with or without Bynum. I would have to say that I think Pau and LO play better together than Pau & Bynamite. Dont brand me as a Bynum hater… im just callin it as I see it. Bynum off the bench would work better than LO off the bench. Although I doubt that young andrew would accept that change.

I agree. Bynum off the bench will work much better because they play at a faster pace and you need a strong blocker down the paint to cover for any bad judgement or turnovers. =0)

TLN!, let’s trade Bynum for Amare, both injured~

Its a testament to the depth of the Lakers. I think Bynum’s talents are too huge to not feature and its a good problem if the Lakers have an abundance of talent. GO LAKERS!!!!!!! KOBE IS THE MVP!!!

  • Juilliard Dancer LA

It’s great to have an abundance of talent, but I just think that with him coming off the bench the lakers will be able to use the talent they have at their best. Lamar isn’t a scorer first, he gets others involved..that’s why he does so well with the first team.he gets our best going..plus the lakers grab more rebounds this way because there’s not two seven footers expecting the other to get it..there’s a quick LO and our big Gasol who have great chemistry together when they play. The scoring always starts off slow too when Gasol, Bynum and kobe start. I think this is because they are passing so much and trying to figure out who should get going bc all three of them are use to being the go to guy. With Bynum coming off the bench he would be featured in a role such as Manu. He will be feared by all because teams already just got worked by our starters, they need their rest, so good luck for their bench who have to play our Great Big Man with all of our Bench mob shooters. This way our starters will get lots of rest because not many teams can handle Orlando Magic Dwight Howard style ball as a bench unit. Bynum will get plenty of minutes because this would be dominant and we can start him in a lot of situations, but of course we will have him in at the end of the game when he is needed.

It’s a good thing we (and the rocket scientists who sit and write their opinions) are fans and not involved in basketball decisions. Basketball is and always has been about match-ups. Against Denver and coach Karl he may be right that we are better with Odom starting. Lamar Odom is one of the top 5 most versatile players in the game. He is a match-up NIGHTMARE. A coach like George Karl sees and knows more about Basketball than any fantasy league geek or Fanatic (FAN) will ever hope to comprehend. And by the way, to the fan that suggested Amare for Bynum, I hear that Real Estate in Pheonix is real affordable now. I’ll send you the Uhaul Truck.

Sounds George Karl wishes the Denver Nuggets had a true center.

That’s a load of horse crap. Bynum brings us something that we so desperately need and that’s an inside presence. He makes the opposing team think twice about driving into the paint. We’re a great team without Bynum… We’re UNSTOPPABLE with him.

  • Lakers 24 7

Today’s game against Denver proved how the Lakers are missing a strong presence in the paint. Chris Andersen was having his way with everything.

  • Juilliard Dancer LA

we are unstoppable with Bynum. We need him in the paint to face the big teams. Gasol is a big enough center and skilled enough center to have his way with most teams in the league…but against teams with aggressive big men who are strong and powerful we need Bynum.
