Kobe Bryant, Jodie Meeks
With Kobe’s injury, the Lakers need help at the 2. Bryant may not be ready for the start of the season, which means alot of minutes are available. Even once Kobe returns, 24′s minutes should be reduced from last season’s number. This is a good opportunity for a young player to come in and get a lot of time in a market with a lot of exposure.
Young, athletic. He was traded to Memphis midway through last season, as part of the Marreese Speights salary dump, and saw his minutes drop. The Grizzies may not value him, and he could be looking for a fresh start, and see the Lakers as an opportunity to showcase his talents for a year.
Roger Mason Jr.
Can shoot, has played on winning teams before. At age 32, he may have slowed a bit, and won’t be much help on the defensive end. A veteran fallback option.
Good athlete, and he can shoot. A little small, but he could fit very nicely in D’Antoni’s uptempo style. May be out of Lakers’ price range.
Not terribly skilled, but he is athletic, and hasn’t gotten many opportunities. With time, he could be a good finisher on the break/defender off the bench. Should be cheap.
Athlete. Has had some off court troubles.
