Word is that the Nuggets are going to make this mistake.

Ray (San Antonio): Do you think someone will pick up Miles specifically to screw with the Blazers cap for this summer? Do you see anything wrong with that?

SportsNation John Hollinger: For those who haven't been reading PER Diem, screwing Portland's cap isn't the main reason to sign Miles -- the main reason is to get a piece of the $9 million tax payment the Blazers would have to make to every other team in the league. Split 29 ways that's a little over $300K, and signing Miles to a 10-day and playing him the two required games (apparently the six exhibition games counted) would cost a fraction of that. So whomever signs him is basically turning a profit.

Another reason not to sign Darius Miles. Hell, we haven't even played Mihm or DJ. We have lots of help even with our injuries!

Wouldn't it be great if the Mavs signed him? Paul Allen vs. Mark Cuban, baby!

Now everyone's going to be afraid to sign him even if they have a legit interest in him. You don't think Mark Cuban's capable of a douche move?

Watched a few games of Miles with Boston in preseason and he's still more useful than Stiff Mihm.

The Portland Trail Blazers have placed a warning to other NBA teams that if they signed Darius Miles and put him on the court, they may get sued, according to a report by Ian Thompsen from Sports Illustrated.

"The Portland Trail Blazers will take all necessary steps to safeguard its rights, including, without limitation, litigation,'' wrote Blazers president Larry Miller in an e-mail addressed late Thursday night to all NBA team presidents and general managers.

^ that lawsuit wouldnt work, they couldnt prove intent in the court of law. i think a team like washington, or the thunder HAVE to give it a shot, They are absolutely horrible
Again - this team, as currently constructed won't make it out of the second round of the playoffs, let alone the West or win the Finals.---fido on 2011 Lakers

well thats very unlikely they would succeed because there would be no way to prove that was the team who signed darius miles intention

lets say the clippers or warriors sign him to a 10 day and play him both teams riddled with injuries there is no way of proving the team who signed him simply needed someone to fill in for injured players

it wouldn't even make it to court

besides its their fault they said he had a career ending injury yet all accounts are hes able to play basketball again

if they were smart they would pay him under the table since we know money is darius first priority to stay out of basketball

this threat of litigation isn't a legitimate threat
