David Brickley and Gregory Small will be your host throughout the 2008-2009 NBA season, updating you on everything that has to do with your Los Angeles Lakers. Bringing you up to date news, stats, exclusive interviews, relevant information and most importantly all this will be given to you from a Lakers perspective.

David and G come to you for the first time in 2009 and they do not disappoint, Lakers Insider for AM570 Radio KLAC and the host of the Weekend Barbecue with Joe Grande, Issac Lowenkron (I-Lo), joins the duo for a round table discussion about the Lakers.

David and G discuss there feelings on the big win on X-Mas, and why it might have been the one and only "big game" this entire season.

A listener expresses his extreme displeasure with G-Small, D.L. Hugely disses G as well, and Kobe is using foul language in postgame interviews? Whats going on here, this might be the best cast ever produced.

You don't want to miss it!

the quality could be better, but what you have now sounds about as good as it's going to get through VoIP. not bad by any means, though.

Ya its hard with Skype G is in LA im in San Diego, so its basically like a voice chat. So it is up to the quality and connection of our microphone/internet every time which can vary. Being in the same room would work fine as I have a professional microphone etc. But, ya trust me im not happy with the quality but realize that it may be all we can do at this point, if you have suggestions though please feel free.

I posted this LAST pod-cast. Anyone still think any team can win 70 games? I wanna add that, 70-12 record is .854 winning percentage, no team is close to that right now. All teams have 6 or more losses (not even halfway done with the season). The team who has the best shot at is now is the Cavaliers. Hopefully the Lakers can prove me wrong and beat the Cavaliers. (Lakers were never on pace to win 70, using the Pythagorean theorem)

Celtics are playing the best ball in the NBA. And they aren't even going to win 70 games. I will bet my life on that. Laker fans need to stop focusing on 73-9, and take it game by game. Right now Lakers are struggling on defense, scrambling and panicking in the 4th quarter cause they played lackadaisical in the first 3 quarters. When they can win games like they were in the beginning of the season THEN we can start talking about that historical record. BTW, Sizzlers buffet is awesome. I also found a site that uses the Pythagorean Theorem to predict what I did in the last pod cast, minus all the confusing numbers. http://www.coolstand...ngs.asp?sn=2008

Oh BTW, when "Voice of the Nation" is posted on GAME DAY, Lakers lose. Check it out. Episode 17 Posted on: December 2, 2008, Lakers Lost, Episode 18: posted December 9, 2008, Lakers Lost, and Today, Episode 19: Lakers Lost. 2 episodes of VOTN that was posted in the regular season was not posted on game day. "Curse of the Nation" maybe?

my response: dude.....

i know that the kobe/shaq/phil allstar weekend is going to be interesting, but do you guys really feel that shaq will even be the back up center? do you guys feel that bynum could somehow sneak in as a third lakers allstar?

Man you actually Youtubed that video? Sucks for you dog. At least it was a bikini. There was talk of doing it in Speedo :nervous: Blame the Lakers. Had they beaten Boston there would have been no lost best, and subsequently no video!!!!

Though Drew has All-Star talent, I don't think the coaches would put him on the team. He's shown too many lapses and hasn't played with high energy every game. Mehmet Okur is probably next in line behind Shaq.

jamaal magloire was once an allstar. so anything is possible... yao and/or shaq might be injured in February as well. bynum had 18-10 last night. maybe he can go on a tear like last year. and if the lakers have the best record in the league it might warrant three allstars. IE.boston'08/detroit'06.

you're absolutely right. bynum WOULD have been an allstar last year, barring his injury of course.

i do however disagree with okur. i feel that marcus camby is much better than okur.

Camby is definitly a better defender and rebounder, but Okur is putting up 17 & 8 on a playoff team while Camby is averaging 11 on the Clippers.

I’m hoping Okur doesn’t edge Shaq out for the back-up center spot. But there’s always a chance of Yao getting hurt before then!

i would still pick camby on my team any day. the dude has had multiple 20+ rebound games. he's a beast in my eyes.

yea, i don't want okur back in the allstar game. shaq would make a more interesting story line. and yes, yao will most likely be hurt.haha..

-------------

i know that a while back shaq called phil "benedict arnold". phil later said, "shaq was far from the hardest worker on any of my teams"(or something like that). do they still have bad blood? is there any chance of phil benching shaq the entire allstar game.(ex. Isaiah Thomas/pierce+walker '03)

I really hope that Pau and Shaq will make the team... Pau deserves it and don't forget that the ASG is in Phoenix, so is very likely seeing Shaq "coming off the bench" :D

I think Pau will be selected by the coaches to go. Amare and Duncan will start (or Artest) and Pau will be the other forward off the bench with Carmello Anthony (or Artest).
