as i was watching the laker vs portland game yesterday, it reminded me how dominant the lakers were.. i think those lakers can beat our lakers now... we can will probably get 2 wins against them, so 00 lakers 4 vs 09 lakers 2 what do you guys think?

oh and WOW @ portland's line up back then.. deep as HELL

I think this team has it's chances ... Shaq should probably own Drew. The present Kobe will own the old Kobe (experience is the key). I think Pau can be the difference maker in a game like this. I think the current bench is deeper than the old one...

Great topic. I agree that the experienced Kobe would "own" the younger Kobe, but the Shaquille O'Neal on that team was such a dominant player that he would have swatted away Bynum like a fly and he dominated the paint so much that help from AC Green and Robert Horry is all you would have needed to throw off Gasol. I agree that this year's team is a little deeper, but Shaq's dominance and his 1-2 punch with Kobe, combined with plenty of depth (Horry, Fox, Fish, Rice, AC Green, Ron Harper), would have defeated this year's Lakers in a 7 game series no problem. Sometimes we forget how great Shaq was.

I think it'd be a 6 game series; Our current team has great depth, but Shaq's dominance would be too much to overcome.

man, that 2000 squad was loaded with veteran assasins....

I still remember so many buzzer beaters from that team.. Great memories. Shaq was too dominant that year and Kobe was just too fast.. That cross over he did on Pippen and lob to Shaq was insane.
