Boston Celtics: 29-6. Great record.
Six losses. Is there an obvious weakness/pattern here?
They played against 5 out of the top 6 scoring teams so far - Lakers, Warriors, Knicks, Nuggets, Pacers - and lost to all of them once (haven't played the Suns yet). They did hold these teams far below their averages, all lower scoring games, but Celts lost to them.
The other team they lost to was Portland who is in the middle of the pack in scoring.
So are the Celtics just scared of these scoring teams? Is a great offense better than the Celtics' defense? Are they going to lose to Phoenix this year, and Cleveland (who is 7th in scoring)?
Someone who watches these games would be of great help. Boston is 8th in scoring btw and 2nd in opponent ppg.

Harrington carried them in the first half, Chandler finished it in the 4th
Kobe was hot early on and then made plays late in the Christmas game
Granger and Ford had good shooting night
S-jax scored like 15 points in the 4th against them.
Melo and Billups had an efficient night at Boston

1) Length or athleticism up front.
2) Teams that make Rondo and Pierce shooters
3) Any team that takes the initiative to be physical. Boston has no other gear, as far as paint play goes.
Every loss they've had this year has had at least 2 of those 3 things. The Celtics had better look into getting some help off the benchh in respect to #1 above. Otherwise, getting past Cleveland, let alone the Lakers may not be such a given.

all of those teams have superior perimeter players so if one of them goes into a hot streak the Celtics have trouble stopping them. This is where James Posey is missed.

also the blazers are a top 3 three point shooting team
