This thread is just to say random thoughts that don't deserve their own thread.

New Orleans lost today to the Nuggets at the Pespi Center. That's the Hornets' 10th loss of the season. Vanilla Ice performed 'Ice Ice Baby' at halftime, I kid you not.

The Houston Rockets without a quitter Tmac lost yet again, this time in heartbreaking fashion to the Atlanta Hawks on a Michael Bibby 3pt shot.

Here are the current standing for the Eastern and Western Conference now:

We've got a nice cushion in our conference, but we're still going for the full homecourt advantage obviously with much bigger plans so no letting up.

To me, this season boils down to which team learns how to play with a target on their backl the quickest.

The Lakers are handling it, the Cavs are handling it, the Celtics are waivering, the Hornets can't take it, the Spurs are trodding along, the Magic are getting the target drawn right now and the Suns are teetering.

The first team to come out of this 4 horse race this year with the strength to handle everyone's "A" gamewill win the whole thing.

Games to pay attention to on Jan. 4, 2009:

CLE vs. WAS (Home)
BOS vs. NYK (Home)
POR vs. LAL (Home)

Prediction? Washington is going to beat the Cavs as payback for that horrible Christmas Day game where Cleveland got away with a win due to some very shaky officiating in the last 6 minutes. Hopefully, NYK beats Boston, but I doubt that will happen, unless the Knicks are money from the three and just overwhelm the C's Defense. Oh, we're going to beat Portland, B-Roy or not. By 17.

Eric Gordon beasted it for the Clippers today: 31 points, 13 in the 4th quarter, all the big plays down the stretch. Sadly, they couldn't pull it out. :(

88-87 in the loss. Kid has a nice future in the league.
