What's with this assumed trade thing though? Last I heard all talk of deals were called off by the Lakers front office.

As much as Luke has impressed me (and believe me, anything positive he does impresses me at this point), keeping him would hurt the Lakers' chances of resigning more valuable players to the squad. If someone has to go, it has to be him.
