Lakers started December off with a loss to the PACERS, and went 7-4 in their first 11 games of December. In the 7 wins, only 2 were double digit wins. Kobe was doing good, but his team wasn't. I don't care if a player scored 81 in 5 straight games. If that team lost all 5 games, I wouldn't make him the player of the month. IMO the player of the month makes his team better along with their great performance. Remember, Kobe scored 41 in a LOSS and 28 in the 3 other game they lost in December. I don't know if you remember but there was much negativity leading to the Celtics game until they gave us a boost in confidence beating the Hornets by double digits. IMO Kobe deserved this award more in November where they went 11-1 (13-1 if you count the October games). In the 11-1 stretch Kobe was averaging 27.25 Points, efficient enough for his team to win. In December Kobe averaged 28.93 points a game, nearly 2 points more each game, BUT Lakers went 11-4. In November (including October) Lakers had 8 double digit wins. In December Lakers had 4 double digit wins. not saying this award isn't deserved, I just think he deserved it MORE last monthWhat would be considered a fast start? 25-5 is about as good as it gets!
