EL SEGUNDO - Kobe Bryant decompressed a little bit at home. Derek Fisher spent time with his family. Pau Gasol went to see a movie. Lamar Odom slept late and forgot to shave.

After two days away from the practice court, the Lakers went back to work Wednesday morning feeling rested and relaxed. They were not sharp, losing their edge after a couple of days, but that was to be expected after their layoff.

"I try not to do (resolutions) just because anything you try starting Jan. 1, you could have been doing already. I just think we should all reflect on 2008 and what all has been accomplished. Fish is right on the money.

Resolutions are broken, forgotten and useless. This first day and last night should be about looking about and realizing what you learned about yourself, those you love and the world around you.
