How? Dr. Buss made up his mind during the season to trade Shaq after the season was over. How did Kobe get him traded when Dr. Buss made his decision to trade Shaq during the season? That was a huge reason, but Kobe definitely played a big part in it... cmon.

Ah, and Shaq led in scoring with 22 (Barbosa also had 22).
Phoenix is now 8-2 when Shaq nets 20 or more points.
The problem with this is, they are becoming too reliant on his scoring. Why is this a problem? He plays every other game.
Phoenix is in trouble.

It was a combination of panic and what Kerr is used to seeing in winning teams that made that trade happen. It was done with no regards to chemistry of the established winning norm that was already in place in Phoenix.
Plus, I still think that Kerr and D'Antoni did not get along whatsoever so this was a way to "show" others that D'Antoni couldn't coach a winner.

Very true Kobe didn't get Shaq traded but Kobe could have kept Shaq there by stating to Buss that I need Shaq and will not resign if he is traded. Kobe held all the cards before he resigned. This is water under the bridge so no use to keep rehashing.
