Yeah without Blu-Ray I think the PS3 would truly tank. The games are gorgeous, its just so cost prohibitive. For such a smart company, you'd think Sony would dump that price to about $250. I guarantee their sales of both the PS3 unit and Blu-Ray software would soar. They really have slipped on game selection and support for what the machine can do. Its a disappointment and I think Sony's lackluster support of it kind of shows that they may think the same.
It just feels like that console is one small step away from being absolutely buried.
We just got a Wii today. Its really fun, just an alternate style of games/gaming. You do have to be in a different mindset to play them, but man once you do, the thing is crazy addictive.
Can't go without my 360 and the Media Center hook-up though. There's just no console with better games, a wider/more diverse selection of media on most fronts, great online community and marketplace and more versatility overall.
