Sorry, I had to condense the 400 taunting Lakers e-mails from Thursday night into one super-annoying e-mail. Look, I think we learned one thing other than it's hard to beat a good team at home when they're getting every call -- when Kobe is the best guy on the floor, the Lakers win. He was brilliant Thursday. That's why the Lakers won. For whatever reason, he didn't do it in the Finals and that's why they lost. So basically, I learned nothing other than that my dad has a new nickname for Tony Allen: "The Heart Attack." And just an FYI: You can't get revenge for a 39-point loss in the deciding game of an NBA Finals by beating someone in a regular-season game at home. I am almost positive.

It's understandable that people are over-reacting, it is a BIG win though. And beyond that, we're coming for their throats. Take no and I know fans like me are already looking towards the next matchup. I think this picture sums it up best:

But he has zero credibility outside of Boston in regards to analysis of games and his opinions mean zilch. I always dismiss whatever comes out of his mouth because he's nothing but a big joker. Join the rest of Celtics nation and keep crying Bill

Also, for those saying this was a meaningless "regular season game" don't think for a second that there is no psychological warfare going on here as much as the physical part. This is a serious rivalry. Us winning one of two match ups is a big deal - look at last year with both reg. season victories going to the Celts...

It's also hard to beat a good team if no one outside of your big 3 shows up.

KG, Allen, and Pierce were the only three players from Boston who scored in double figures.

what's with that? the whole game yesterday i had to put up with the announcers saying that this wasn't as big a game for the Celtics.

That's Bill Simmons at it's best. I expected such comments from him. I hope the Lakers got their "I'm focusing on Beantown only" out of their system so that they can focus on the rest of the season. During that road-trip, it seemed like the Lakers were not interested unless the letters "CELTICS" were printed across their opponent's chests.

I think this was a good win but if the Lakers really wanted to let everyone know they're ready to take it all this year, they should beat the Celtics in Boston.

We won so it's a big deal. For them, they are still up 6-3 going back to last year so I'm not sure they are too worried.

Could we not create an idiotic thread of baseless outrage every time Bill Simmons says or writes something that gets your overly-sensitive panties in a wad.

If we must, how about creating a thread for all this ridiculous nonsense. We could call it the "Official Bill Simmons Made Me Cry and I Have No Sense of Humor or Understanding of What an Opinion Column Is Thread." Then you can all gather there to have a great big circle jerk of self-righteousness and pretend like most of the people on this board aren't every bit as biased as he is (but without the writing talent and hoops knowledge).

I thought it was funny. I guess the loss for the Celts against the Warriors proves my point - yesterday meant a little more to the Celtics than Mr. Simmon's first thought, eh?
