Just what would Kobe's career averages be if you take off his first 3 seasons when he wasn't a starter? Surely it has to be higher than 25 PPG, 5.3 rebounds, and 4.6 assists?

Or if anybody could tell me how to calculate it myself, thanks.

I'd plow Vanessa Bryant.

He was a starter in his third season since he started every game he played. But all you pretty much have to do is add up all his averages and then divide it by 10 (I'm assuming you're not counting this season) and that will be his averages without the first two seasons.

27.92 if you just take his add up all his season averages minus his first three, and divide them by how many there are. this isn't the most accurate way to do it, but i'm lazy, and it'll kind of give you an idea.

edit - this includes 08/09

The thing is I don't know if it's correct, I added up all his seasons(including the current ones) and got to 24.8 PPG, while the every other site has 25.0PPG, perhaps I did a miscalculation?

I'd plow Vanessa Bryant.

I know he was a starter in his 3rd year, the thing is that was the lockout year.

I'd plow Vanessa Bryant.

that 27.92 that i came up with, would be 3rd all time behind wilt and MJ, barely beating iverson, baylor, and bron bron at 27.4

Yeh, I don't come up with the exact number either. Maybe it's because all of these averages are rounded?

and i think the reason your calculation is off a bit is because you're averaging averages. there's a more accurate way to do it that would take a lot more work, taking the averages off all the seasons before the number is rounded and figuring it out from there, but yea, screw that

Actually I know how they got the 25 ppg for his career average. They take the total points that Kobe has scored (22351) and then divide it by the number of games he's played (894) which is about 25. So you'll need to remove the points he scored from his first three seasons from his total points and remove the amount of games he's played from his total games played.

^that'll work too, but again, too much work =P. now i'm curious to see if it would end up at 28 since the quick way ended up at 27.92...not to mention i included this season

Alright if I did this correctly, I got a 28.2 ppg average (including this season) with 19596 points and 694 games.

He started every game his 3rd year, so you should not include just his first 2. It's actually quite easy to calculate. All you need is a stat page that shows you career totals, the handy google calculator, and it shouldn't take more than a minute to find all three stats.

So when considered a starter, his per game stats are:

ppg - 27.78
apg - 5.15
rpg - 5.87

Whooaaa I actually made a thread about this exact thing in June on another forum! Here you guys go!

http://www.mixmakers...an-s-stats.html

Now, not counting his first 2 years (so he wasn't a bench player anymore and always averaged at least 37 minutes a game):
27.74ppg
45.57% shooting
5.89rpg
5.18apg
1.67spg
.62bpg

My numbers somehow sliiiiightly vary a bit from daco's... strange. very slight so no matter.
