The Lakers have a poor track record of diagnosing the severity of injuries. At least this isn't an ankle.
If he has surgery, they'll probably delay it until Valentine's Day, to make sure that he's still hobbling for the play-offs.

Need more information...could be out for a week, or a few weeks or months...depends on location and severity.
Not good news though. Sorry I can't be more helpful. We should know more by Monday, based on diagnostic study reports. At that point, I can offer a definitive "guesstimate".
