It's great to know that the players recognize they are not playing to the level of their rivals; the Celtics.

This is from Luke's blog

Even though we feel like we have the deepest and most talented team in the NBA, at 21-3, we're not fooled by our record. We know Boston and Cleveland are playing better than us right now. We know that our defense has to get a lot better and a lot more consistent if we're going to have an opportunity to reach the Finals and win it.

Another Laker saying that they know they need to improve on defense, yet another game where I've seen no real improvement. This is so troubling...

Luke may not be the most athletic players around but he is one of the smartest and right now the lakers need intelligence more than they need athleticism.

Lamar's said it, Luke's said it, Phil's said it. They aren't playing defense. I'm glad they realize it but I'm upset they are doing nothing about it. They've been all talk for way to long.
Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from an indomitable will.

Exactly. How frustrating is this as fans? Does Luke thing he's making us feel any better because he acknowledged their major fault? We, the fans, KNOW that the defense needs work, we've known it for WEEKS, yet y'all have shown us NOTHING.

Probably the biggest matador on the team (or Farmar, but that's beside the point). and he talks about defense...

We hear this after every game. I am tired of hearing it and want to see it.

Again - this team, as currently constructed won't make it out of the second round of the playoffs, let alone the West or win the Finals.---fido on 2011 Lakers
