nikon makes good advanced point&shoot cameras..personally i would stay away from olympus and kodak cameras

I had to take pics of a flower for a project in Photo class tomorrow. And it was hard looking for some around my area esp. our patio because well...they were all dying lol. most of them all shriveled up. my mom was all yellin at my dad the other day about not watering the plants right lol

lol...you should go to the CSU Fullerton arboretum, its not that far from anaheim and everything is in bloom
i was actually at CSU Fullerton Tuesday. lol but tht was before i was even given the photo assignment. poo

That class is going excellent. Got one of the highest grades in the class.
We're working on negative-positive stuff and putting it together to make a weird crazy project. Mine came out WEIRD AS HELL. Looking at it just makes me dizzy
Gotta start on the drymounting project tomorrow which id ont understand whatsoever...

depends on what you are looking to take photos of, if just general photo taking any point&shoot will do. nikon and canon make good ones

Most of my shots are sports related -- but I want to start expanding. What kind of lens do you usually use for your outdoor shots (like the beach photos)?

Well im thinking Nature, landscape, etc.
you should check out the Canon G9 or the new G10. they are "advanced" point & shoot cameras. keeps the compact shape of a p&s while giving you the manual options of a digital SLR. I really would get one but with the equipment I have there's really no use.

usually for landscapes I use a Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 lens. Ultra Wide Angles are fun to shoot and the one Sigma offers is pretty afordable. I also have a Canon 17-40 f/4L which is a pretty good general use lens
