I got a pair of silver Kobe II, wore it like twice, couldn't stand the stares around me though....=.=

Loving my ZKIII now...:P

I'm thinking, if it's low tops, I probably could wear it more regularly?

THese Kobe's are still the best colors
Carpe Diem Editions, the color he is going to wear on the court first

yeah believe it or not but, the rapper "The Game" hoops at the new rec center in my hood.
He's homie with former NBA and USC baller Jeff Trepagnier they just come out here for some good runs and they got some homies in the area.

Anyways one day after we played a couple full court games we took a gatorade and smoke break.
I was going through my e-mails on my Blackberry and my cousin sent me the pics of the new colors for the Zoom Kobe 4's .

The Game said he is gonna cop these All-Star Editions

Lowtops don't provide much ankle support.

Lowtops don't provide much ankle support.

Like Kareem said... The body is naturally designed to be able to absorb shock from the feet up. It has certain mechanisms in place to displace the weight throughout various joints and bones in your body. But when you restrict these joints and bones, another part of your body is forced to take the grunt of the pressure.

In this example, we're talking about the ankle. If you immobilize the ankle then the weight gets transferred higher up to one of the most important joints/areas in your body, which are your knees. Kobe already has a slight knee problem, so relieving his joints of that added pressure can only be a positive thing. Why do you think Kareem was able to play into his 40s without his legs giving out? Why do you think most Jordans were mid and low-tops? Allowing the ankles to work naturally eliminates the added stress on the knees, thus allowing the body to distribute the shock in the best way possible.

Finally, if you're going to turn your ankle, 98% of the time it's because you landed on someone's foot. High-tops, low-tops, mids, etc... None of them will prevent rolling your ankle by stepping on someone's foot. NONE of them. There's really nothing to worry about here... Nike tested Kobe in highs and lows and he's noticeably quicker in lows, his cuts are sharper and more precise, and since he runs an averga of 2-3 miles a game, the decreased weight of the shoe will only help his stamina out. I'm all for the low-tops!
