That dude is seriously one of my heroes.

I'm gonna frame these jerseys and have a copy of my pic with him for authenticity. lol. Ain't no way I'm givin these up. I'm STILL pinching myself to see if it was just a dream. WOW... it was truly an honor to meet a living LEGEND like Magic.

Meeting #2 - Northridge Mall - Borders Bookstore

My sister and brother wanted to meet Magic too. The problem was, was that the day I went, they had to go to school. So my mom agreed to bring them to Magic since she fell in love with him.

We arrived at the Northridge Mall at around 11:30AM. The signing was about to start at 1PM. We weren't prepared for what we saw next...

Right when we walked in, we grabbed the book right away - it seemed to be 2 of the last few copies the bookstore had. Right when we walked in, there was chaos. Magic wasn't even there yet! But right when we walked in, about 20 seconds later [no exaggeration] he walks in. he goes right up the stairs to the second level & begins his signing. In order to get an autograph, you needed to have a wristband; they had different colored wristbands. They were accommodating the fans by color of wristband. They went in this order: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue. Problem? We had BLUE. There were 40 wristbands per color. So you'd imagine that there were THAT many people. ANd each wristband was good for 4 people. WOWOWOW! This was definitely nothing like it was in Century City!.

I was ready to wait for about an hour. One hour turned into three hours. Yes, holy cow, three hours! They told us that blue wristbands weren't even guaranteed an autograph. My heart was starting to sink. The moderator there then announced to the fans that Magic had agreed to finish the entire line; even if it meant staying an extra hour. At this point, I was dancin' in my pants yo!

The line was getting faster; meaning, Magic was signing faster. haha. I was soo happy. When we were nearing the front of the line, one of Magic's bodyguards recognized us. He suddenly had a huge smile on his face & said, "HEYYY!! YOU'RE BACK!!" The people around us began to stare.

When we got to the front of the line, Magic greeted my sister and brother first. I moved behind my brother and said HI. He didn't seem to recognize me at first....

*Note: Magic spends an avg. amount of about 30 sec. with each fan. - this convo was over 5 mins*

Magic: Hi There. How is everyone?
Sister: Good. I made you something. It took me a long time to make. Hope you like it.
Magic: Is this for me?
Sister: Yes.
Magic: I'm going to read it right now. While you're right in front of me.
*reads letter*
Magic: WOW. That's great. That's amazing. WOW. Come here. *hugs* Let's take a picture.
Me: Magic, Do you remember me? I was the one who got lost going to see you on tuesday.
Magic: *looks up quickly* Oh My God! That was you! Come over here! This is my girl right here guys! *hugs me tightly & shakes me from side to side* Thank you soo much for coming again. Thank you for bringing your sister and brother.
Me: No Problem!
*gives him the letter I wrote him*
*Magic takes individual pic with brother*
Magic gets up from seat & says to his assistant "grab their camera. I want to get a picture with their family."
we take a family picture & voila!
Magic: *hugging all of us one-by-one* "THANK YOU SOO MUCH FOR COMING!! I don't want this to end. I don't know when i'll see you all."

he had a sad face. I wanted to cryyy!! man oh man.

Hahaha... yea... I got a #24 blue wristband... crazy huh? Too bad they had to throw it away... it was understandable tho. I got there around the same time... I just parked behind Circuit City and walked my way to Borders... I was pretty much settling for the first open parking spot since it was so crazy with people holiday shopping.

AYUZ!!! GREAT blog MM. Magic is just pure class! That's awesome he remembered you! Yea, when I heard the PR say he was gonna stay till everyone gets an autograph I was like

It was kinda funny because when I got there, he had no problem with me bringing 2 jerseys, 2 books, and my camera malfunctioning. LOL! He was like, "take your time with the camera... just show the lady how to use it and we'll take a picture."

You see, the problem was, is that i'm not from Northridge [but i've been to that mall a few times] & so I didn't really know where I was walking. haha. Finding the Border's was tricky. We parked somewhere near Red Robin. & the traffic in the parking lot was INSANE. People were honking at everyone. :lol: ohhh dontchu love the holidays?

I know, normally players wouldn't even go past their time slot. I've been to alot of Laker signings & usually when they say they're only gonna stay for one hour, they get up right on the dot. like if they say 3-4, they finish at 4 whether or not they finish the line. & here's Magic, an NBA legend, saying that it doesn't matter how long it'll take him. He's definitely my favorite right now.

Oh, yeah. You were allowed to bring up to 4 things to have signed, so you maxed it.

Yea... that sucks you couldn't make it. But hey... last season, I showed up to a playoff game hung over. As soon as I got there, I sobered up REAL quick. LOL!
