My Christian acquaintances out there, hope you say this prayer too.
Dear God, our most gracious, loving, all-powerful, unchanging, unfailing Father . . .
We come in your midst right now.
We humbly bow and give you thanks and praise for blessing us the L.A. Lakers.
Thank You for answering our prayers of keeping our entire team healthy.
We ask that You grant us a healthy 2009 season ahead. Through Your grace and Spirit, fill us, and may your power stir our players away from hurts and injuries that could halt our team's progress.
We ask for Your gracious hand to touch our players for them to really play their best every game and raise the level of their play.
We humbly bow and ask that like the Celtics, Pistons and Spurs, we too can be a very good defensive team.
Lord God, if it's Your will, may You grant us reinforcements through trade right before the deadline in february. Nonetheless, we are content with the players that You have blessed us.
Oh Lord Jesus, may Your presence be in the midst of each and every one on our team. Through Your grace and Power, we ask that You nurture the camaraderie and unity on and off the court of our entire team.
May You touch the hearts of each and every one that they too may surrender fully unto You their lives.
We gladly give You thanks and praise for blessing us our unheralded leader in Derek Fisher, who is also a fellow believer in Christ Jesus. We ask that You bless Him and His family and may You also bless eye sight to his infected daughter. We pray that that little girl may grow and see the goodness of life given to all men by Christ Jesus from the cross.
And through Him, we pray that You let Your WORD be known to our players, coaches and the entire organization that when we step onto the court, the whole world may see who is at work in us.
Thank You also for Pau Gasol and Trevor Ariza, boons that truly helped boost our confidence and reestablished our winning marks.
We also bow and humbly ask that You bless the integrity of the NBA. Through You grace and power please guide the referees in every game that they may be inspired to officiate the games as fairly and as best they can. ^^,
May the games be played fairly and squarely, free from harm and any sort of conspiracies and that the best and deserving team wins. May the Spirit of humility and graciousness surface no matter what the outcome. May You take away the harshness that oftentimes mark the way success is measured.
We ask Lord that Your goodness and wonder surface in the entire league that You may be able to use it to draw people close to Your presence.
We ask that all the 30 teams may enjoy a healthy competition led by Your Spirit.
May You grant us Lord a humble heart in victory and a graceful heart in defeat.
Thank You Father for we ask, we receive, we knock the door will be opened. =)
You have promised, when we ask for bread, You won't give us snake. You are just and gracious. We long to witness good, healthy and colorful contests and we long that You be in the midst of all these things.
Thank You for this game, for such a wonderful present. =)
Thank You Father for we know You have heard us. ^^,
To You who are ABLE to do exceedingly, abundantly, above all that we could ask or imagine, all the glory and praises belong to YOU!
All these we pray in the most gracious, loving name of Christ Jesus . . . AMEN!
GOD BLESS US ALL!
