Are cameras allowed at Staples Center?

mod/admins, sorry if this is in the wrong section

does any1 know if cameras are allowed at staples during games? im going to a clippers game today and im thinking of taking my digicam, but on staplescenter.com it says that cameras are not allowed. ive never brought one but im jw since ive seen them when i previously went to lakers games

I am going to the game today too! I heard cameras aren't allowed, but they aren't too strict on it.

My question is what they won't allow cameras? Of course the fans would like to capture their experience there.

There was a thread about this at CL. IIRC, most regular consumer cameras are okay. There are size limits, so as long as isn't some huge, super hi-tech, 100gigapixel camera, then it should be fine.

I been to About six games at Staples Center and I always took it. They never said anything but I dont know if its a new rule or something

Yea you can take cameras, Clips games are even more lax than Lakers. You can't take video cameras I think, or like SLRs where the lens is bigger than a credit card or something. Normal smaller digital cams are fine.

There are metal detectors and you have to put your metal items in the tray before you enter.
They never said anything to me with the camera placed on the tray

yep. you can bring em in. they just dont want cameras that have a good zoom or something. no fancy cameras. the standard digital cameras are fine.

Yea, you just can't put a huge lens on it.

i read the lens has to be smaller than 3.5 inches...which is more than enough

Yup, I think that's around the size of a credit card. They just went up to my friend and compared the lens to a card.

ive even seen people with the big lenses. i dont know how they sneak it in!

Yea my friend got his camera in, then they noticed it looked big from afar and came down to our seats to check it.

So I'm sure a buncha people get by
