Hector Santiago finally got a win lol...Anyways, great overall team effort from the Angels after losing the first game of the series. Hopefully, their bats show up against the A's this upcoming weekend. Too bad Chad Qualls could not close out the A's or else it would been a two game lead in the standings.

Damn it! Angels did not capitalize on a golden opportunity to win the game. Also, that was an awful at bat for Calhoun. You have to be very patient on those pitches especially when bases are loaded and there is only one out. Now, let's hope the Angel's bullpen can hold onto the tied.

Yes Sir! Very nice at bat from Kendrick! That's how you hit on game pressure moments! Now, if the Angels can win at least two more game, then they would have at least a 3 game lead going into September!

Yes sir! Another great win from the Angels tonight! Jered Weaver pitched well tonight holding the A's into zero runs. In addition, Iannetta with a huge game with 3 RBIs and a huge bases load walk.

Tomorrow is the weird game because Rasmus is starting tomorrow. From the looks of it, Scisocia will use the bullpen a lot tomorrow night.

The most important thing now is to have the Angels win one more game in this series and they will have a three game lead going into September!

Another great pitching performance from the Angels bullpen tonight. In addition, Aybar was spectacular tonight with his bat and with his defense.

As for the A's, they lost their mojo as a team. It looks like they use all their magic during the first half of the season. In addition, trading Cespedes for Lester kinda backfired chemistry wise. I still do think they will win the first wild card spot unless they completely collapse in September.

As for the Angels, the goal now is to stay healthy and get home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. In my opinion, the only team that will threaten them for the best record in the AL is the Orioles. However, they do have a 3.5 game lead over the Orioles for the best record in the AL, so they can definitely build on that lead.

Wow, I never thought that the Angels will sweep the A's especially this dominant. Now, the Angels have a five game lead over the A's going into September. Barring a major collapse from Angels or a huge winning streak from the A's, the Angels will most likely win the division. The only thing that the Angels need to do now is STAY HEALTHY and get the best record in the American League. Fortunately, the only team who can threaten the Angels for the best record in the league is the Orioles. The good thing is the Angels do have a 3.5 lead over the Orioles so as long the Angels continue to play well I think they will get the best record.

The only bad thing about September for the Angels is that they have to play 16 road games compared to 10 home games. Let's hope they do well in those road games.

Also, Erick Aybar is playing some great baseball right now. He is doing it with his bat and his glove. I hope he can continue doing until October.

Another thing: Matt Shoemaker is pitching very well. In his last seven starts: 6-1 with an ERA of 1.31 with 36 strikeouts and only 6 walks. He is easily the AL Rookie of the Year.

He would be if it weren't for abreu. Aybar with an all time highlight catch.

You are right, I forgot Abreu is actually a rookie.

Yeah. Sucks for Shoe, hell of a find ( so far) for JeDi. Need to come out and smash Houston.

This is one of those games where the Angels were completely flat all around. It does not help that Wilson is back to being awful again. Hopefully, Weaver pitches well tomorrow.

Although the Angels won today, they still look sluggish and are struggling a little bit. I wonder if that Oakland series took a lot of their energy. Also, I wonder if Scisocia is telling them to relax a little bit knowing they are most likely to win the West? Because for the first three games of this month they are struggling. I hope they are able to fix their issues because I want them to win the West and also get the best record in the American League.

With the Angels win and A's and Orioles losing, the Angels are now 6 games ahead of the A's in the West and 3 games ahead of the Orioles for the best record in the American League.

Also, Mike Trout had his first 100 RBI season so congrats to him.

Unfortunately, another sloppy game and the pitching has been sub-par since the start of the month. In addition, Scisocia is using the bullpen a lot in these past four games so I am hoping they be fine for the upcoming postseason!

Yeah that pen looks tired. Imagine if trout had a season with no slumps. OR in the number 3-4 hitters spot.
