Glad for a W but losing Grich is HUGE. He was easily our best pitcher. Leaning heavy on Wilson Weaver Shoe and Hector might end us. Plus the pen is getting taxed A TON lately. Not good. Those September call ups can't get here soon enough. Offseason needs to see more SP depth. Would love to sign a top pitcher but who knows. Yanks Dogs and Sox have more to spend than us.

Great pitching effort from Shoemaker tonight! Now, a very important weekend series vs. the A's starting tomorrow night. If the Angels can win 2 out of 3 against the A's, I think they will win the division.

GREAT outing for Shoe! Angels need to play pissed off. Hope Trout gets it going he's been slumping hard.

Trout will be fine but he needs to change his approach on the plate. He takes pitches when he needs to hit the ball and he swings for the fences when he doesn't need to hit it hence the reason for the very high strikeout rate. Even Mark Gubicza said that Trout finally hit a first pitch strike instead of waiting for the ball to come to him.

Another note: It looks like Iannetta is hitting the ball well lately. He did not have any hits but he did have three walks. I hope he continues to hit well going forward.

Freese has been much better as well. His defense is still pretty shotty.

yeah one of the very first things I ever noticed with trout was that he would remain patient and just wait for "his" pitch and It would constantly produce results but now this whole be more agressive and swing at everything approach has kinda backfired this season.

Oakland is an annoyance nothing more. We find ways to gift wrap games against them more often than not. They will choke in the playoffs, I don't care how stacked they look.

Even though the Angels lost 2 out of 3 against the A's, they will still have 1 game lead going into the seven game home stand. In my opinion, that was the key because now they can build on that lead on their home turf. But, they have to do well in this home stand because their last home stand was atrocious. Also, they will have 16 road games compare to 10 home games in September so it is critical for them to do well in this upcoming home stand.

Damn! Weaver just had to give runs in the 7th inning lol...

Great start from the Angels but sloppy ending for them. They need to tighten up a little bit towards the end of the game because they will not score 9 runs in every game.

For now, they will use Wade LeBlanc. Unfortunately for him, his next start will be against the A's this Saturday. Man, it sucks that Richards to go down with a serious injury.
