After five solid innings from Richards, he completely fell apart in the sixth inning. Let's see if the Angels can manufacture runs again against Scherzer.

Today is the type of game that I want the Angels to win. Yes, they only scored 2 runs, but their bullpen did not gave up any runs and Skaggs only gave up one run.
If the Angels can maintain their strong pitching performance, I think they have a really good chance to win the division.
As for their offense, I am not too worried about it. I mean they faced the Mariners, Orioles, and now the Tigers. Those three teams have solid pitching staff. It will be hard to manufacture some runs.
Tomorrow, they will face Verlander. They should able to score some runs against him because Verlander has been struggling all year long.

Another solid pitching performance from the Angels. I hope they can bring these solid pitching performances on the road trip because they will need it.

After a bad pitching outing from Richards in the first game, the Angels pitching only gave 2 runs in the last three games of the series. These are the type of games that will help the Angels down the stretch and in the playoffs.
Now, here comes the true test for them. They will play 34 road games starting on Tuesday until the end of the season. We will see on how well they will pitch in those road games.

Damn it! Angels can't capitalize with runners on scoring position. Weaver had a BAD outing. This was I talking about: Can the Angels starting pitchers be solid and effective? If they can't, then I don't see them doing well in the playoffs. Also, Aybar sucked tonight 0 for 6.
Well, they lost tonight. I hope bounce back tomorrow night.
And the Athletics just took the lead in the ninth against the Astros. So, instead of half game back, now it will be 2.5 games back.

Once again, another bad outing from their starting pitching. Richards gave up four early runs. The sad thing about this is that the Athletics just lost 2 out of 3 against Houston, so the Angels just wasted an opportunity to gain a lead over the Athletics.
