Ken Rosenthal @Ken_Rosenthal#Angels declined Haren’s $15.5M option. He received $3.5M salary. With $13M salary from#Nationals, would come out ahead.

Anything more than a spot start or long relief I'll be pissed.

At least he didn't go to Texas.

We don't receive anything. New CBA doesn't allow a team to be compensated for a rental player. Greinke would have had to start the season with the Angels and turn down a qualifying offer for us to receive a first rounder. Please tell me we get a draft pick for Greinke.
At least he didn't go to Texas.
The picks are different now. If the Angels did get a pick, it would have been at the end of the first round. I don't even think we would have taken the Dodgers' pick.

You guys improved the bullpen, but the starting rotation may not be as good as it was last year. Hanson is a good get if he's healthy.
What about offensively? You guys have some really solid players who will put up numbers but any areas the fans want to see upgraded?

We improved the bullpen, but the starting pitching got worse. The Angels still haven't found a third baseman and are going to replace Torii with a guy who can't hit. I think they improved the team, but missed an opportunity to improve even more.Kinda wondering what's the vibe of the fan base so far this offseason?

Signing Blanton for $15M was awful, but combine that with the fact Brandon McCarthy signed for almost the exact same amount makes it worse.

Yeah man it was back in October when he was hired.
He used to be an advisor for them in the early 2000's and he's really close with their GM.

Here we go again.
Hamilton to the Angels became possible after the Rangers put Hamilton on the back burner to pursue Greinke.
Rangers screwed themselves up on this one. Hamilton is good, I just worry about his issues being here in Cali. Lots of opportunities to relapse.
Love how the Dodgers and Angels are taking over though.
