Netflix + DVD Shrink = $ Saver

I've spent too much money on DVDs already. Don't know if I want to start again on Bluray. In 5 years it'll be 5x sharper. It's a vicious cycle.

Yeah. I'm guessing Blu-Ray will get phased out eventually in a few years. But why not buy normal dvds when they have these upconvert dvd players? Granted I don't have a blu-ray player or hdtv, but I don't see why you should buy all these new forms of media when you can use the old forms and get near to, if not the same quality.

I myself haven't got a chance to compare the two format, but they picture is much different from what I've heard. Though maybe not enough for the average consumers to switch over so fast. Not unless prices of players & media drop to a resonable price.

 Sorry. Kyle, a HDTV is a must. Even with a dvd player that upcoverts, you still need to get a hdtv to see the higher resolution. Also, not only is the picture better with a blu-ray player. The sound is much better. Blu-Ray players prices wills start coming down after xmas with Panasonic and phillips making them instead of just sony

This is the general thinking out there. My thinking is why even buy it when you can rent or . . .

I just bought batman but my wife told me to take it back. Most likely I am getting it for Christmas. Other than that the last one I bought was the disc special edition of Bladerunner. Love that movie.

Which special edition? There's about 5 different kinds.
