I guess it's just the fact that i'm a straightforward, prosaic douchebag, but I was just wondering if the "Boston Sucks" chants bother anyone else??

Boston doesn't suck. Neither do most teams/players that sports fans in general classify as 'sucking.'

well some people cant stand Boston like myself ....so yeah Boston Sucks. not because there good because most of us cant stand the site of them.

sports chants really shouldn't be taken literally...They're all really just meant to distract the opposing team and show some solidarity with the rest of the fans. What do you expect people to chant? "PHOENIX IS PRETTY GOOD, BUT OUR TEAM IS STILL BETTER!" or "PHOENIX SUCKS!"? I think the latter is a little easier.

Maybe they are talking about the city. It does suck once you compare it to sunshine, palm trees and So Cal in general.

+1. i knooow, but it's just me being a little [expletive]. i analyze everything literally, then i let it bug me. like referring to the Lakers as "we" and "us".

there's probably some type of medical diagnosis for it. :lol:

that's different. i'm putting my lakers fandom aside when talking about this.
chanting "beat boston" would make sense in my [expletive]ed up way of thinking. that's encouraging team a to beat team b, not making a baseless claim.

...all in theory, of course.
