lets lose Kobe for a few games and let Pau carry us, and see how efficient he is

Plz tell me someone knows this game in thos forum, Kobe doesnt weave when teams play good D, its just more visible when his shot isnt falling

Pau has definitely been the better player, and also the most consistent. I can't recall him having a bad game this year, but if he has, it's probably because a lack of touches on the offensive end. Kobe's screwing up big time on both ends of the court. He takes bad, contested shots on a regular basis, and gambles way too much on the defensive end. Those bad shots may have made sense before last year when our talent was crap, but it makes absolutely no sense for him to be doing that now (unless shot clock problems or at the end of the quarter).

Kobe is the best player in the world, but he sure isn't acting like it.

Same was said about Tony Parker, but Tim Duncan is the man in San Antonio. Parker benefits greatly from the attention Duncan gets in the lane. Gasol benefits from Kobe's double-teams. It's in the same ballpark.

Pau facilitates the offense and creates a lot of opportunity for those in the outside. He is definitely been the best Laker this season due to his consistency and selflessness on offense.

Of course you hope that happens. Kobe's legacy is more important than us winning to you.

This IS a playoff team without Kobe. Just as this is a playoff team without Gasol.

I'm the laker fan. I'm not the one who wants to see Pau go down to prove Gasol's worth. You're the one who wants to see Kobe go down to prove Kobe's worth. Who really wants the team to win?

I'm a true analyst who calls it as I see it. Gasol is just as important as Kobe.

Gasol is important to this team, but he is not as important as Kobe. No I'm not a Kobe jocker. Yes I care about the overall Laker team winning.

I wouldn't say "just as important", but the difference really isn't much. And heck yes this team is a playoff team without Kobe.

i dont think anyone is upset at Gasol for being a great addition to the Lakers, all I said that let Kobe miss a few games, but maybe I should have worded it differently, but I was saying that if Kobe had to miss any time, we would be a little better than the Grizz, with Gasol... we dont have a lot of veteran leadership as is...but to say we are a playoff team without Kobe is premature on you guys part.
The paint would be clogged, and those periods where we have offensive droughts would be longer, then if an injury were to occur(which happens every season to every team), we would really suffer. Who would close?
Some people think Ariza and sasha is all we would need, but then who fills their void, when they are trying to fill Kobe's.
Ultimately we will never know, but I will say this, we are essentially Portland without Kobe, young, deep and talented, but even they have Roy who is similar to Kobe. And they are far from a shoe-in to make the playoffs, even if the west is down this year.
Also I have noticed, when the going gets tough Gasol doesnt really step up for us, if he gets a clutch shot either kobe sets him up or Kobe pulls far back so his man cant double, but

pau is our second best player and we cant win a title without him, and he has been the most consistent on OFFENSE.
