As an assist coach or something...

We're not insulting him, were just saying that he doesn't fit well with the current Lakers squad.

lol at this "Josh Smith is a better slasher"

He cant take 3 dribbles with someone guarding him without fumbling.

I do think hes better on D.
But right now he's not an upgrade. But could be a good project for the Lakers. He's sure to be a fan favorite, and if he gains confidence dribbling, and dosent get 'jumpers knee', he'll be a star

RoHo's way past his prime.

At this point, don't think he can earn a roster spot on this squad.

If he can prove that he's worthy of a spot - I'd welcome him with open arms.

Smith has so much upside to him it isn't even funny. He's almost in the category of one of the best defenders and could have definitely have been the Hawks face of the future.

Josh Smith's J isn't good. Neither is G-Wall. Both are elite defenders.

Whatever we lose in offense from them, we gain in offense from Kobe (who can sit back and let them take the toughest defensive assignments) and the increase in possessions from elite defense.

My pick is still Shawn Marion but if we can get an elite defender like Smith, you make the deal and work out the kinks later.

Artest is first priority and if we cant get him then we can try for Smith.

I think if you make a trade like that, you become more of an inside, physical team. If say we have a lineup of:

PG - Fisher
SG - Bryant
SF - Smith
PF - Gasol
C - Bynum

Take a look at that lineup and tell me how many of those guys can hit a 3? It's only Kobe and Fisher. If we make a trade like that, then we get away from our chuck up 3 game and go to more of an inside, physical game. It could possibly suit Bynum more.

I personally think if we can get Josh Smith For Lamar Odom that will be great. I also think we don't have to trade Lamar. We can have him come off the bench. Our line up would be Fish, Kobe, Vlad or Ariza or even Walton and then PAU and then DREW. And our bench would farmar, sasha, luke, vlad, or ariza, lamar, and kwame or mihm, mbenga.
Also everyone must have a great 6th man.

WAT U GUYZ THINK?

When you give somebody 14 million dollars a year, they are expected to start. Vlad is not starter material and Ariza is our only spark off the bench with Sasha as Ronnie left. So it is better to trade Odom are start him.

he is good for us
U guys act like odoms shot is any good either.

smith is 6 years younger then odom
improvement can occur

He's a much better slasher then LO

and with his defense
him and bynum will make a Hella good blocking tandem

I pull the trigger on this trade easily

True that, and also lamar isnt clutch at all
did u guyz seee his playoff performance against boston.

Quoted For Troof. Who cares about his offense. We need defense. Besides, we could start Ariza at the 3 http://lakernation.c...tyle_emoticons/default/cool.gif who I think is a better fit with KGB than LO will be.

If we trade for Josh Smith, he is starting, not Ariza. Plus, Ariza's shot isn't exactly automatic either. I can see some shoting troubles for us in the future with this trade. I'd still do it though.

I'd welcome him back......... if he re-learned how to shoot. During the playoffs I was like "LEAVE HIM OPEN!!!" and when he shot a wide open shot I thought "YESSSS REBOUND PLEASE!"

Would have been an excellent addition, but retaining Sasha is not bad at all. I prefer Sasha's clutch shooting and experience in the system than having JR Smith and starting from scratch with him.

i think we should try to shoot for carl landry. he has energy and hustle like turiaf. he is considering europe over the rockets and im pretty sure he'd love to go to the lakers...the only problem is he is restricted. what are your thoughts?
