Ron Artest is as valuable to us as James Posey was to the Celtics or Antoine Walker was to the Miami Heat.
Not true. Artest is much more valuable then Posey due to his lock down defense. His defense compares to prime Bruce Bowen and is a really good match up against forwards in the League. If anything, Barnes is our Posey.

Have him come off the bench I guess.

True but you fail to see my comparison, the Celtics havent won jack since losing Posey and that could be our fate if we lose Ron.
Lakes havent had a defensive guy like Ron since Coop.

Word, this guys are playoff players, they raise at the highest stage, put Barnes in at regular season, but a lock down D-fender like Ron can't be traded, you can't find them easilyThis is the same issue as Derek Fisher for the past few years.
For Ron and Fisher, the regular season will not define them as much as what they do in May and June.
Without those two last season, Boston puts up Banner 18.

THIS x infinity! Artest could easily go to another team and put up decent numbers, but the fact that he is in LA, having his minutes and stats reduced and is STILL happy and content is a blessing. Artest is waiting for the big stage. He had a taste of that champagne in June and nothing on earth tasted sweeter. You can tell by his interviews, he loves the big moments that the playoffs and Finals bring and he wants more of that stage. I can take a subpar reg season for a guy who will be motivated come playoff time. And especially the guy who has the task our guarding the other team's best perimeter player EVERY night. We have the luxury of having a guy like Artest start out on the Paul Peirce's and Kevin Durant's of the world and then being able to go to the bench and bring in a guy like Barnes who is a stauch defender in his own right. Now your saying you want to throw that away? Why excatly?

Yes let's trade the guy who single handily kept us in game 7 and won. He's in a shooting slump get the [expletive] over it, he'll catch fire soon. If you remember last year he started off horribly and then gradually picked it up as the season progessed. We don't really need him to score more than 8 ppg like he is now because we have other capable scorers like Kobe, Pau, Drew, and LO.
Denver wouldn't do it anyway.

anyways, as much as i love Jameer and think he would be a great fit for this team, i don't want to see us undergo any huge trades. maybe if we don't win a title and need shaking up this would be a deal to talk about in the offseason, but for now the team (especially LO) are doing a great job
