They have an easy start, that's for sure...

I believe you just think the Cavs are overrated because of the wonderful Lebron James. Other than that, the team, itself, to me, is not overrated. =\

Let's see how are they're going to perform on that road-trip coming... After that we can say if they are overrated or not...

Typical Kobe fan defense mechanism.

Nothing says that this Cavs team is overrated. NOTHING. They made it to the finales 2 years ago. Last year they took the champion Celtics to 7 hard fought games.

Mike Brown is one HECK of a coach. He's getting everybody to play defense. Delonte West is an excellent defender at the one, they have Varejao coming off the benching puttinjg up 8 pts, 7 boards, 1 blk 1 steal, they have Z clogging the middle.

Just stop your bias. This team has been a contender the last 2 years, why aren't they this year?

I remember when Kobe zealots said Mike Brown was a bad coach just because he didn't bash LeBron after one bad shooting night. I also remember Kobe zealots saying 'LEBRON WILL NEVER BE CLUTCH', rofl. The more you let your Kobe fanboism cloud your judgment, the more you will be mentally embarrassed.

Isnt this the same crap that many here got pissed about when they were talking about the Lakers having a whole bunch of home games to start the season, thus resulting in their good record?

Wow...never really saw the teams they played thus far until now. Only good team they beat was Denver, and was that before the Billups trade? Oh and they beat Utah, but I dunno if DWill played.

EDIT: Checked it out. Yeah the Nuggets had Billups but the Jazz were missing Harpring, Okur, and DWill. Yeah I think the Cavs are a good squad, but after seeing their competition, I'm not at all impressed by their record.

For now, I'm ranking top 3 like this:

1. Boston Celtics
2. Cleveland Cavaliers
3. Los Angeles Lakers

Regarding the 'easy schedule': The league waited for us to hit the 3 game road trip....we suffered, they are happy. Now we can only wait out how the other 2 teams play out as the days go by...

Overrated? I wouldn't be surprised at all if they a) make it to the Finals or B) beat us in the Finals, assuming we get there.

Lakers, Celtics, Cavs > rest of the league by far

<_< how is this fanboyism? seriously the topic would be 'is lebron is overrated' or something along that line. he's saying that the CAVS as a team, not Lebron, had an easy schedule... true or false? personally i don't think the cavs are overrated, but i don't see this as some kind of kobe fanboy defense mechanism either... if the original poster was a clippers fan or a bucks fan, the question he's asking would still be debatable judging from their schedule, but because this is a lakers message board he's automatically defending kobe?

we had the MOST HOME GAMES this season between Us, Boston, and Cleveland, WE ALSO havent played that well on the road (we gave up our 4th quarter leads), and we lost to the skidding Pistons and the lowly Pacers who Cleveland beat twice this year (the Pacers did beat Boston though), the other 2 teams PLAY MUCH BETTER TEAM DEFENSE than us, when are some of you guys gonna learn that just having a record like ours, Celtics, and Cavs IS HARD to achieve in the NBA .... by the way, I dont remember the last time we beat the Cavs since Lebron was on the team ... let me know when that was

let me put it this way

the play elite defense
they have lebron, zydrunas, mo williams to handle the offense
they are an elite rebounding team
they have a top 2 player in the NBA and a top 5 coach in the NBA
they have top 3 depth in the NBA

yeah i would say they are the opposite noone is crowning them when they are playing absolutely great basketball right now

and if you ask me boston and LA have had equally easy schedules

lebron is fully deserving of the MVP right now

stop saying they are overrated because of your hate for lebron the cavs are a very very good team right now and it would not suprise me to see them in the finals if we get there

I could see where is he coming from... Roster-wise it's just Lebron + a bunch of good players (no all-star calibre), and the oldest set of frontline (Big Z and Big Ben)... Their have an early schedule, that's for sure (but then again, so did the Lakers and Boston)...

But...

they are closing games really well
rebound the ball, especially offensive rebounds (even if they don't have anyone averaging 8+)
insane D
bench production is not shabby either (ours is better, but kinda streaky IMO)

We could learn a thing or 2 from them...

you know what after tonight its obvious there is one overrated team out of the top 3 teams in the league and its not the cavs or celtics

you want to talk about overrated we have had about 90% of our games at home and still look like crap

the los angeles lakers are overrated not the cleveland cavaliers who IMO as of right now are 5 times the team the lakers are

I dont understand how people can post threads like these while their own team is becoming the definition of overrated and overhyped.
