"The very basic core of a man's living spirit is his passion for adventure.
The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences,
and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon,
for each day to have a new and different sun."

I respect Simmons and his opinion.
He's THE only good thing about ESPN, and I'm not going to let one little blurb change my perception of him. Plus, he does have a point. Sure, a 15-2 start is terrific, but it's early, and the Lakers have had a pretty damn easy schedule thus far.
I swear, it feels like I'm one of the only people here that can take off the purple and gold colored glasses and look at outsider opinions objectively.
I feel your pain, dude.

Most people on this site sound like a buncha babies (besides a few guys here). Stop crying.
I love Bill "Russell" Simmons (does anyone call him that? I just thought of it) and all his columns.

LOL, you should totally e-mail that to him. He'd probably love that. Especially coming from a Lakers fan. Maybe you'll make the next column or mailbag.

Nice
I see faith in your eyes
never you hear the discouraging lies
broken is the promise, betrayal

This idiot bashed on my Clippers too, seems he only has bad words about franchises. Very negative guy- ignore his articles.
Respect me and I'll respect you. Don't respect me... we'll cross that bridge when we get there

Bill's articles are great. What an idiot, taking away from the great defense Lakers have been playing this year.

And great defense? We've dropped off BIG.
First 7 games: giving up 86.7ppg.
Winning by 18ppg.
Detroit game and on (last 11): Giving up 102.5ppg.
Winning by 8.45ppg.
Damn, some nice stats found by myself. Someone start using em in arguments for how much we've dropped off.

As imadogg pointed out, and if you've seen any of our past several games, our defense has been atrocious. What an idiot, taking away from the great defense Lakers have been playing this year.
This idiot bashed on my Clippers too, seems he only has bad words about franchises. Very negative guy- ignore his articles.
And if you ignore Simmons, you're ignoring one of the very few good things about BSPN. His nickname is the "Boston Sports Guy". If you guys can't, even for a few minutes, take off those gold and purple glasses and admire a good sports columnist, then I feel very sorry for you.
