Surprising, especially since he beat Bird's Pacer's in 2000.L.A. Times: Then he mentioned a Hall of Famer he has yet to meet.
"I've never met Larry Bird before," Bryant said. "I'd like to."
Kobe has never met Larry Bird

Kobe's not that much of ''people person'' he hardly has any friends in the league, he doesn't party with the other players. His only focus and concern is basketball, which is not a a bad thing.
I think that's now becoming a common misconception about him. This used to be him, but it seems like lately, that's been far from the truth.

Yep, that was him when he was younger guy in a league full of older folk. He felt he really didn't have many players to relate to back then.I think that's now becoming a common misconception about him. This used to be him, but it seems like lately, that's been far from the truth.

Off the court his only concern is his family and practice.

A guy putting his family and career ahead of his friendsOff the court his only concern is his family and practice.
That's called being a responsible grownup. It doesn't mean he doesn't have any friends just because he doesn't go out and party, especially since most of those party guys aren't tied down with a wife and kids.

What a shocker!

Are you trying to bait me with your lame sarcasim.
It's a fact he doesn't hang out with teammates, he never went to a party thrown by teammates until the Brian Shaw retirment party thrown after the Colorado incident, im not saying he has no friends off the court but he does'nt hang out like most of the other players.

Not hanging out like other players (most of whom probably don't have wives and/or kids) doesn't mean he barely has any friends. Like I said, early in his career he felt like he didn't fit in with other players, and was basically a recluse when it came to his team, but he's grown from that. He's not that same kid he was at the beginning of his career. Are you trying to bait me with your lame sarcasim.

I don't know if you lived in a cave the entire last season, but the team including Kobe hung out a lot, and he mentioned it several times. Maybe you don't see him or hear about him going to public nightclub events like some of the other guys do, but I'll take Kobe's word over your "fact" when he says he does hang out with his team and they've grown to be like brothers.

Calm down. You obviously don't like sarcasm. Well, I don't like when people refer to things that aren't true as "facts".It's a fact he doesn't hang out with teammates
