Defense wins championships. Does it concern you that our Lakers are allowing too many points a game again?

They followed a lousy defensive night against Indiana with a 48% shooting for 102 points against the Sixers.

If they letdown defensively again. Against Boston in the Finals, they'd surely melt.

What's happening???

I thought they were a very good defensive team already...

What really gave you the idea we had a good defense?
The strong start we had?

Called media hype; truth is our defense is overrated.

Lot of work to put in.

Blame "heel".

It starts with our PG's. Fisher and Farmar are spinning doors. No lateral quickness. Every night the Lakers get BURNED by the opposing team's PG

Ford put up 20+ last night, Andre Miller put up 26, 12 more than his average tonight, Terry had 30 the other night.

It's ridiculous and unacceptable.
Gooden>> Lamar Odom. Mo Williams>> Ray Allen>> Gasol. Nene= Gasol.

Our PG defense is pretty awful.
Farmar has all the tools but doesn't try hard enough, and Fisher's pretty much trying as hard as he can.
Bynum and Gasol are great at protecting the paint, but we also need to work on the pick and roll defense again -we seem to have lost that part of our defense.

Even if Farmar tried, he's too short. People can shoot over him.

Fisher just isn't fast enough. Fisher should not be starting. He should be a 15-18 minutes off the bench type of instant offense type of guy.

Well as long as he stays in front of his man I'd take people shooting over him all day. 1-on-1 jump shots I'd take, as long as he tries to contest. If his man drives and Farmars there to impede his progress one of our bigs would have time to come over.

Point is, Farmar just needs to work harder. He has no excuses.

We better care. He's going to light Fisher up like a Christmas tree, ironically, on Christmas. :(

The point is Rondo ISN'T supposed to be lighting us up. We can't have Rondo light us up. He drives in, Bynum leaves his guy, leaves openings for Perkins and KG

Rondo's play has improved a lot since last year. He's gain much more confidence. 17 assists tonight against the Pacers. His drive and kick mentality is going to kick the lakers in the nuts. He's going to wreak havoc to our defense.

It seems like our defense is always strong at the beginning of the year and as the season goes it starts to twindle.

everyone plz SHUT UP :enough: ...our defense improved from last year, without a doubt, thats it and thats all
the lakers in thier long storied tradition has never sttod on its defense in the manner that the Bostons and detroits and San Antonios do, but if we have improved to the point that we have these great spurts defensively(and we rebound the ball well) we will be good enough to hoist that trophy, just like the Shaq and Kobe teams, and the Magic and Kareem teams( no of who were defensive juggernauts...)
Also we have to dictate tempo
Again - this team, as currently constructed won't make it out of the second round of the playoffs, let alone the West or win the Finals.---fido on 2011 Lakers

Wat was mentioned was that the rest of the league have kinda handled our defense better after the showing....so we have to adjust the rest of the way rather than our opponents adjusting to us 1 game at a time.
