Followed by a 4-game road trip.
Then, the REIGNING NBA Champs on X-Mas.
Total of 13 games in 21 days leading up to X-Mas.
Not too many powerhouses...just gonna take consistency on the defensive end and a good effort from the bench every night to sustain excellence?
Can they? And THEN, get it done on X-Mas against the team that EMBARRASSED them in the Finals???
I can't call it. All I know is we are about to see what this team is made of and if they are contenders or pretenders...I personally think they'll drop 2 (at least - I'm hoping for NO LOSSES) before meeting BOS...

We had a back to back with the Mavs and Hornets. Mavs was a tough game, but the Lakers pulled it out. Then the Hornets we had basically blown out for three quarters and we let them back into the game, but we still held on. Then we played the Suns and just spanked them. The Pistons spanked us, plain and simple, but the way they beat us is that they shot lights out. There's nothing any team can do when there oppenent is making everything in sight, its just one of those games.
I think a lot of people here have said that we should have beaten the Bulls by more, or Sacramento was harder then it really should have been, but those games where the Lakers struggled with a lesser team but still won is a prime example of what CHAMPIONSHIP teams do. Even when they are not on their game, they find a way to win.

Here are some awesome numbers and whatnot:
- 14-1: The NBA's best record
- 108 ppg average
- 94 ppg allowed average (though I'd lke to see this decrease to under 90)
- All 14 wins by 7 points or more

Tue, Dec 02 - @ Indiana
Wed, Dec 03 - @ Philadelphia
Fri, Dec 05 - @ Washington
Sun, Dec 07 - vs. Milwaukee
Tue, Dec 09 - @ Sacramento
Wed, Dec 10 - vs. Phoenix
Fri, Dec 12 - vs. Sacramento
Sun, Dec 14 - vs. Minnesota
Tue, Dec 16 - vs. New York
Fri, Dec 19 - @ Miami
Sat, Dec 20 - @ Orlando
Mon, Dec 22 - @ Memphis
Tue, Dec 23 - @ New Orleans
Thu, Dec 25 - vs. Boston
We SHOULD win our next five, which will drag us into STAPLES with a lot of momentum versus the Suns, who are struggling. After that, we stay at home and beat our next three (again, we should). On the road, the Heat and Grizzlies should be a breeze, and I don't think we'll have trouble with the Magic, either.
I'm just afraid of two games, really: that one in Sacramento, since we somehow always find room to suck against them on the road, and that game versus the Hornets, in New Orleans, assuming they will get their act together by then.
I think we'll beat Boston, because I'm not sure if they have an answer for Bynum, and we all saw how Garnett struggled for a while with Gasol. No Posey or Brown, two guys who were factors in that Finals series...we should take it.

It's possible...not probable.I don't think we'll lose four of our last six in that bunch. That would be pretty disappointing, to say the least.
I'm hoping that we don't get stung by one of those teams and fall off the wagon to the tune of 3-4 losses.
To me, this team is still fragile. We have so many weapons that people ignore the black under current that is pervasive in our close ball-games. We are not dominant yet...
This next stretch will either expose that or push them into that "dominant" echelon...

I think that, if it were to happen where we lose two games in a row, Kobe will take over until our guys show consistency off the bench (because it would be our bench that falls apart and causes those losses, since they are a big part of our victories this season). It's possible...not probable.

We'll see. I think I might be a little more positive in our offense, just not our defense...but, as those Kobe and Shaq Lakers said, our best defense is our offense.

Oh well.
No longer on track to beat the 72-10 record.
No longer best record.
And we get to watch BOS DESTROY the Pacers tomorrow night...

And I hate that our defense was not consistent...but don't blame me. I was just calling it how I saw it.

Yeah because Boston sure did do that earlier in the season to the Pacers...... oh wait.

I see faith in your eyes
never you hear the discouraging lies
broken is the promise, betrayal
the healing hand held back by deepened nail
follow the god that failed
