Anastasia Liukin got robbed of a gold medal today... the other girl should have gotten more deductions. I haven't really been too harsh on the Chinese gymnasts being underage, but the one that won gold on the uneven bars looked like she was 12.

Which means that the US team is being beat by middle schoolers. That age only makes their feat more impressive.

US-China baseball?

5 batters HBP
One US player crushes the catcher, no attempt to slide...
US up 9-0 before a Chinese guy hits a solo HR...and runs around the bases like he just won it all.

Really weird.

Sorry, but in the uneven bars, the younger gymnast's lighter weight and flexibility is an added advantage. But that's beside the point. The fact that the Chinese in this instance got to select their athletes from a wider pool of girls is unfair to other countries that played by the rules. Liukin herself did not get to compete in 2004 because she was underage, and already was a clear a phenom back then.

Nastia Liuken definitely got robbed of a gold medal, the chinese girl had more visible errors, yet the incompetent judging decided who earned the gold or silver medal. The tiebreaking method they used is the absolute worst I have ever seen. Gymnasts get their moment in the spotlight once every four years, the difference between first and second place should not be decided by the opinion of an incompetent judge.

Watching the gymnastics was just depressing except for the all-around finals where Nastia got Gold and Shawn got Silver. I mean, you just have to feel bad for Alicia Sacramone. She had a chance to redeem herself in the Vault finals and was completely robbed. It was the judging and inconsistent scoring that really screwed us over throughout gymnastics, men and women.

the tie breaker? yeah that was wack...nastia should've gotten the gold. the commentators said if they broke down her routine and the chinese girl's, they'd find more deductions from the chinese girl's routine.

I know it's not sports, but IOC in China hasn't allowed Spain to mourn the 153 deaths in the plane accident by wearing a black bracelet....
