Its really not a big deal at all, but I was just curious. I check the standings every once in a while, and Boston has always played more games than the Lakers. After their game today, it will be 18 games played vs. The Lakers 14 games played. They've played more games than The Lakers pretty much through the whole season though, from what I remember. Again, I realize that in the end, all teams will play the same amount of games, but I was just curious.
Why are the Celtics ahead of the Lakers with games played?

The schedule isn't even any year.
There's a ton of factors that go into the schedule. As long as it all comes out to 82 played for everyone comes playoffs, that's all that matters.
Not every team can play on the same exact dates or at the same pace because of venues, other events, travel dates, blah blah blah.

Compared to Boston, we've played 3 fewer games so far this season (after we play Toronto tomorrow).
We'll make up 1 game in January, 1 game in March and 1 game in April.
Until then there will continue to be a disparity in the number of games played.

To bring it further, if you are gonna compare league standings in games behind, we can strike ahead with 1 game if they win 1.
