the 72/10 bulls didn't seem to have a problem...the other laker teams with fast starts during the 3 peat run didn't have a problem...neither did boston last year
so long as we don't have dirk nowitski...we'll be fine

Well, I actually don't think that we're even playing our best yet.. although it's really close! I still see a few things that they can improve on.. Sooo.. right now, I think we'll be alright. We're a fairly young team, we should be ok.
i completely agree...i hope bynum gets healthy fast, and we get to see them in midseason form...i have a feeling the best is yet to come

Plus, Football is only 1 game make or break, not a 7 game series where you can lose one and still have a chance

Bynum's still warming up, and started the season shooting cold. Kobe is trying to shake off the Olympic hangover, and has not performed to his par. Odom usually heats up mid way through the season. Farmar and Fisher have been relatively cold from the field.
The only guy who seems to have peaked is Ariza. Hopefully he will be able to stay as good as he's been. Otherwise we can only go up from here.

I kinda hope that the back-ups can get a few more minutes(mihm, walton, mbenga) so that if they are needed in a game or series they wont be totally out of rhythm or down on confidence but
This team is sooooooooo much better than the two(kobe and bynum;kobe and gasol) we had last year and dont get me started on the three years previous.
One game at a time

I personally don't think we have even peaked yet.
Our defense was consistent to start but has been inconsistent the last several games. We need to clean that up.
Bynum and Pau are finally getting into a groove where both are scoring in double-digits every night. Earlier, either one was in double-figures or the other wasn't. Their chemistry is getting better, but still a ways to go.
Our half-court execution needs to improve. Especially feeding the post.
Kobe's shooting hasn't been great the last several games either.
There are plenty of other things that we're not doing.
The big reason why we're 13-1 is our bench, which I believe is the best in the league. With Ariza, Odom, and Farmar as your main 3 guys off the bench, you can make mistakes and not pay for them. Not even Dallas was as deep as we are.

No, the Lakers are far from peaking. The first unit still doesn't mesh as well as it should. They haven't yet proved they can guard fast good shooting guards, they haven't proved they can score efficiently against Detroit, Cleveland or Boston's zones. There's still plenty of work to do and they should continue to improve.
