Bynum/Gasol should have a field day. Nobody on the Nets can stop them. The main player I'm worried about is Devin Harris who has playing great basketball of late, and well, neither Fisher or Farmar can guard him. No idea which Vince will show up, either. Some games he looks great (see: Toronto) and other games he looks absolutely terrible (see: Cleveland).

No reason the Lakers shouldn't win by 15+.

This'll be a close game throughout but we'll pull ahead mid-way through the 3rd.

Bynum please step up.

The Lakers should play some zone D and this game will be over at halftime. Lakers 99-80 Nets

Arguably the greatest franchise ever

Scouting Report

We have not done a great job in the last couple games keeping guards out of the paint. Enter…Devin Harris! Harris is one of the quickest guards in the league and it will take a team effort to keep him from getting to the paint and impacting the game. New Jersey wants to run. Their first option is to get the ball in Harris’ hands and to let him attack in transition. Option number two is to get the ball to Vince Carter in the half court. Carter will get post-ups, isolations on the wing and top and occasionally handle it in a screen and roll. Carter will create shots for himself and his teammates and is capable of having monster games. Carter, Harris, and Yi Jianlian (still developing but can shoot to 3 and will go to the boards) will take the majority of the shots for this team but we must make sure that their other players do not have surprisingly big games. As usual it will be important that our bench outplays theirs.

Defensively the Nets play with energy and do a good job of contesting shots. They are effective using a zone to change the tempo of the game. They also have players who will gamble for steals so we must be sharp with our passing.

One of the plays that New Jersey runs for Vince Carter is called “X-2”. In this play Carter starts on the weakside wing. The 5 is on the right block and the 4 is at the top of the key. The point guard brings the ball up the left side and passes to the 3 at the left wing. The point guard then cuts through the key and sets a screen for Vince. The play is designed for Vince to use the screen to get to the left post area but if the defense is overplaying and taking that away then Carter can use a screen by the 4 to pop to the top/middle area. He can then take the quick three or the 4 will set a quick screen and roll. If Carter uses the screen by the 1 man and gets the ball in the post he can go to work or exploit the impending double team. X-2 is a simple play that helps keep the floor spaced so their best halfcourt player can explore his options.

I am really excited for this game!!
I actually haven't watched Vince Carter play in a long time, so looking forward to watching him.
But I hope he doesn't play too well....haha

I actually think this should be a very good game. With Harris and Carter...although I def think we will take this one, but I think they are going to give us a run...we shall see!

GO LAKERS!!
