Biggest Chistmas Day Game Ever?

we have played bad twice this season every other game our defense has look unbelievable
Your opinion...good for you.
didn't the celtics get blown out by some bottom feeder earlier this year
They were taken to 7 last year in the playoffs by ATLANTA...the WORST team in the PLAYOFFS. Then, preceded to hand us our lunch in 6.
What's your point? Mine is we lost to the Celts 6 times last year...2 with Bynum, 4 with Pau. Neaither Pau nor Bynum were much opposition to KG or Perkins. Pau is a finished product...he is what he is. Bynum is far from ready to play physical enough to make that much of a difference.
Do the math. This game is not a slam dunk for us.
Again, opinion.you are being pessemistic
bynum has looked phenomenal lately blocking shots, scoring, rebounding, passing
Gasol looks like gasol but with renewed defensive intensity playing against finesse PF's
Bynum looked great last year....except against the Celts and KG/Perkins. Anything changed?
Pau was not a factor against the BRUISERS...KG and Perkins are FAR from finesse.
kobe has shot lights out the past 2 games i dont worry about kobe ever except for health
fisher has looked rusty and old but he'll come around
vlad still looks stupid sometimes but hes been shooting sniper rifle lately
All these things will be magnified against the Celts D.
lamar has been absolutely terrific in his new role hes a shoe in for 13ppg 10rpg 4apg off the bench but has been shooting selectively but timely and making a great percentage
lamar was made for the bench he picks his spots now he was never known for on court awareness well now he can watch the game see where he can be effective and exeecute lamar has never played better in a laker uniform hes looked fluid, smart, effective
I'm reserving judgement on LO until after 20 games. At that point, I will either concede your point or give my detailed (and probably unpopular) dissension.
farmar, sasha need to pick it up and they will we have enough people to keep us winning while they get in the flow of things
ariza andrei kirilenko part 2 the guy has been filling up the stat sheet
i love it right now but we need to take it one game at a time and stay healthy
The bench's offense is what made them so potent. As long as they put up numbers and push the tempo, I'm not worried about them. I definitely not worried about Sasha. I'd actually like to see him keep shooting. If he's not shooting, he shouldn't be out there. I'd like to see Farmar put more effort in on the defensive end...not holding my breath though. No complaints about Ariza. Coming along nicely.
Who knows what this team will look like by Christmas? All the kinks MAY be ironed out. But as of today, we wouldn't win the game.
I said that last year before the playoffs.
I'm saying it right now.
Take it for what it's worth. On paper, we are a dominant team. In reality, we are winning based on our depth and talent, not great TEAM execution. BOSTON is executing well (not great) as a team on both ends of the floor. Just the way it is at this point in time.
Don't shoot the messenger.

I'm BAAACCCKKKKK!!!

...coz we're cooler than everyone else.
But seriously, it better be a good game! & we better get the W.
But i think that if we keep playing like we are now, we'll stay strong & it should be a close game.

The lakers have won all but one game on the schedule. They are better than last year's team. they wont get much better than this period. But tha being said, everyone has perceived weaknesses, but winning at this rate, and the way we have, it;s very similar to team USA. Our depth is killing all other worthy comp. you can say we got outphysicaled by D-town this year, but I dont think we played our best.
And bynum and Gasol as a tandem never had to play the Many bigs of boston
Last year is was Gasol and odom vs. garnett/perkins/pj/powe/posey/big baby this year is Gasodom/Ariza/Bynum(possibly walton/mihm/powell/Mbenga) vs. less celtic big men. i think we have a shot, but :
EVERYONE, ENJOY THE SEASON, THE LAKERS AS AN ORGANIZATION HAVVE WON SO MANY CHIPS, THAT ANY MORE ARE HONESTLY UNREALISTIC BY PURE NUMBERS, BUT IF WE DONT WIN IT ALL DONT GO CRAZY,WE HAVE A COMPETITVE ENTERTAINING TEAM WITH MANY CAPABILITIES.LET US ENJOY IT ALL AS FANS.

Too bad no box score for that game though.
Captain led the Bucks to the championship that season though.

I still think that first Lakers/Miami match-up was the biggest one Christmas game...
agree, so much hype around it.

and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon,
for each day to have a new and different sun."

Fixed for you.
I personally think this will be the biggest Christmas game since that matchup a few years ago. I think this will be bigger because these are the two best teams in the NBA, rematch of the finals, and its the Lakers/Celtics.
