^ Yes, go with Canon or Nikon, no offense to the Sony people. Those are always known as the best & also on the video, tend to have way better quality than Sony on their digital cameras as well, specifically the Canon.
What are you looking at though more or less? How much are you willing to spend and how many megapixels do you want? Would you like it to be able to shoot in HD quality as well? 720p or 1080p?
This is the one I'm gonna' get soon.
They have it in four different colors and it shoots in 720p HD as well. It's a super bargain for all that it gives you and it's around the tiniest you'll ever see and made in Japan so you know it's durable and the build is almost flawless.
By the way, keep in mind, the sample images that are shown on Amazon's site, they still look amazing, some of them, but remember that when they are uploaded from the camera onto Amazon's site specifically, they are automatically shrunken and also lose a lot of its original quality so although some will still look good, keep in mind, they can still look a lot better, same goes for the YouTube HD sample videos from that camera I posted.
Gonna' upgrade from my Canon SD1100 IS 8 megapixel, which is fantastic as well and rated as one of the best for its class, if not the best.
that canon you posted is not bad.. only $200.. might look into that. I want a camera with at least 12mp.. and has pretty good zoom. dont really care for the video cause i dont take videos that much, but hey if it comes in HD.. thats a plus.. but its not a biggie...
I would love to own a dSLR but I want to be able to carry the camera anywhere I go, and I dont feel like carrying 1 big bag just for different lenses. so im going to stick with the point & shoot.
and yeah, Sony cameras IMO is overrated.
