Is it just me?

Its one of the things that has bugged me over the years, going back to the three-peat years and they never seemed inclined to set screens for shooters. I think I've seen more this year, than the past several combined.

With the amount of size they have there have been a lot more pick and rolls from the top of the key down.
Yeah... in years past, we would see the occasional pick on the perimeter. Seeing a lot of the elbow screens lately.

What's so bad about it? If it's helping us win what's the problem?
Nah i think the OP is merely pointing out something new thats so uncharacteristic of Phil Jackson laker teams thats all

I think he said that it has bugged him that they never set screens before
but now he's happy that they're
we're making our opponents bounce around like ping pong balls and tired their bodies out

Yes, I'm happy that we're seeing more screens set. It bugged me in years, past... because screens, if set properly, are an extremely effective way of getting good looks at the basket. I'm happy Phil has incorporated that into the offense.

I think Andrew is really starting to master the art. I see at least 4 or 5 well-orchestrated brick wall screens a game from him. Definitely helping create plays.
